The only reason she ran off that playground so fast was because we were going to get ice cream!🍦 Norris Reservation is 129-acre property managed by The Trustees and situated along the banks of the tidal North River. Things to know before you go: 📍Norris Reservation 10 Dover Street, Norwell, MA 🎟 there is no cost to enter Norris Reservation, it’s free to all all year round. 🅿️ there is a small parking area at the entrance, otherwise you can also us the post office parking area across the street. 🥾 the trails are packed dirt and pretty wide in many areas, but there are also narrower paths, and sections with lots of roots. After lots of rain some of the trails can get pretty muddy (especially closer to the yellow loop) 🚻 there are no public restrooms, so plan accordingly, especially if you’re hiking with young kids 🐶 leashed dogs are welcome 🛝 Gaffield Park 68 River Street, Norwell, MA #hikingwithkids #norrisreservation #hikemassachusetts #hikenewengland #gaffieldpark

Welcome to Norris Reservation location in Norwell, Massachusetts 🥾🗺️ This south shore gem is so beautiful and perfect for a brisk winter walk. There’s plenty of woods, trails, waterfront views, a boat house and overlook benches to look out for wading birds, hawks, kingfishers, and the occasional boater. 📍Norris Reservation - 748 Main St, Norwell, MA 02061 🐾 Dog-friendly #norwell #southshorema #massachusettsoutdoors

It was great to return to the park I grew up with. The Noris family donated land, my friends the McMullen family donated land and some others, and they have turned this into an awesome free walking park. Dogs allowed on leashes, bring poop bags though. There were plenty of fur faces bringing their people for a 4th July walk today. Everyone was friendly. There is a dedication board to read about the history of the park at the beginning of the trails. I saw 1 picnic table after you cross the wooden bridge, parking lot gets filled quickly but you can walk across the street, park at the norwell post office which is safer to unload kids/dogs instead of the street. Plenty of benches, natural rocks, rivers to rest at. My sisters & I used to skate on this in the winter, all our friends came down to do the walks, meeting up at the boat house where you get a great view of the river that leads down to Scituate harbor. It's a place to come and gather your thoughts, explore nature with your family, regain your inner peace. Highly recommended.

Great pathways through the woods, easy walking not strenuous. People were fishing on the little ponds and it was a good area to bird watch and see others walking their dogs (not the birds, people of course). There's a boathouse on the North River that has a cool lookout point right over the river.

It's an amazing place to go and enjoy nature. It's teaming with birds and other wild life, especially after a period with very little human footprint. We went with a boat rented at Roht Marine, parked in vicinity and walked around the trails. Trails are well maintained and pretty easy to walk.
