Nowata County Historical Society Museum — Attraction in Nowata

This museum was spectacular to say the least! There is so much to see and things to learn by reading or asking someone. It's AMAZING! I could not believe all the gadgets, old washers. A man in an old time jail cell with bars. From furniture, to clothes, to pictures and paintings, and a whole lot more! There are manicans with old military suits on with old rifles beside them. Women's dresses that look like Royalty Balls. Old maps, jewelry, shoes, Everything from the 1800's to the 1950's. A man who explained things and answered my questions to the best of his knowledge. What an interesting place. It's free admission and free parking. Wheel chair accessible and Handicap Parking with plenty of parking spaces! To your right of the parking, you see cannon ball machines and more. They will take donations,but not necessary to get in. Very nice museum, larger than it looks from the street. Lots of Nowata information on the town, ranches, Railroad, military area.
