Had a few days in Oahu on a work trip and found Aloha Paragliding on Instagram. They were very responsive with all the questions I had. They were also very flexible with my time availability due to work and between that, the weather and wind, we were able to paraglide off next to the second Lanikai Pill Box late afternoon on a Friday. We were lucky enough with the right wind conditions but if for some reason the conditions aren't right, the team will work with you and your schedule.
Make sure you give yourself plenty of time to get there if its during rush hour. I also recommend parking at the Kailua Beach Park area and walking towards the Lanikai Pillbox Trail. Bring plenty of water and make sure to wear proper footwear for the hike. If you have personal items or a bag, you'll be placing it all onto the harness bag that will be strapped on to you. If you have friends with you that are not paragliding, I recommend that they either watch from the beach or hike with you at the pillbox to get additional photos/videos. Between parking and hiking, give yourself about an hour or more.
At the top, catch your breath and enjoy the views (especially if its your first time up there). Once you are ready, Theo or Will (I had Theo), will go over the paperwork and prep you for the ride.
Even though I had a GoPro Max, I ended up using their GoPro9 for an additional fee because they had more sturdy stick with a clip and line. Theo knew exactly what shots and videos to take. We ended up landing on the beach. This is my third time paragliding at different locations, but this was smoothest landing.
Once we were ready to depart ways, I made my payments via Venmo. They also take Paypal as well. I was able to all the photos and videos from their GoPro to my phone via a memory card adapter that had USB-C.
Highly recommend doing this to anyone looking for a new adventure in Hawaii. Paragliding at Lanikai has some of the best...
Read moreHonestly words cannot express the experience I’ve had with Aloha Paragliding and the paragliding pilot Theo! It was super easy booking a reservation with the company and Theo had answered any and all of my questions promptly! The cost is very reasonable for this experience! Theo is a very humble, knowledgeable and down to earth individual who was very engaging and tailored the whole experience to my liking! I wanted a more adventurous flight and Theo had pulled these amazing acrobatic maneuvers in the air that left me speechless! However, If you wanted a more relaxed experience, just cruising up there was very calm and relaxing and these views you can’t get anywhere else. Theo is very easy to talk to and always made sure that I felt safe and comfortable throughout the entire experience! Theo does offer a photo & video package and well.. look at the images below and see how amazing they turned out! I don’t know how he does it all but this whole experience was 100% the highlight of my 11 day trip to Hawaii! I would 100% recommend this company and Theo and would definitely do it again when I return! Thank you Theo and Aloha...
Read moreWow! Aloha Paragliding is unreal!!! A friend of mine and I stumbled upon Theo and William of Aloha Paragliding while on a hike near Makapuu Beach. We had no intention of paragliding but after hearing about their story and all of their amazing paragliding accomplishments, we said “YOLO” and decided to try our hand at paragliding. I was a little apprehensive because my first experience with paragliding was nerve-wracking and enjoyable. But Theo and William were amazing at coaching me through my anxiety. They made me feel safe, comfortable and even got me to look forward to running off a cliff 😜. Once airborne, the experience was like no other. The views were incredible and again, I felt so relaxed because of the coaching of William. He even coached me through flying the parachute on my own! It truly was an amazing experience and it was in no small part to William and Theo. Thank you Aloha Paragliding for...
