Beautiful scenery and quiet campsites, but the rules for camping are unnecessarily strict and some of the staff are incredibly unpleasant. The permit says you must enter either by 4 or between 5:30 and 6:30, but they start giving you a hard time about it at the front gate by 3:30. Then got yelled at by another staff member for daring to try to drive through the park to my campsite at 3:45 and for having my permit in the middle of my dashboard instead of the left side. You're not allowed to play any sort of games like frisbee or even cornhole because it might "damage the trees," even when the nearest tree is 30+ feet away. No hammocks either, which could be reasonable but it is not stated beforehand on the permits. Due to the low cost of the permit that isn't really an issue if you plan to stay shorter though. The bigger issue is the closing time (6:30pm), which really restricts you if you plan to do anything in the evening. One of the caretakers was very rude when we asked about it. Showers and toilets are as basic as it gets. We left a day earlier because we wanted to do be able to go out for dinner...
