The base is the where you can actually get close to the El Capitan. From here the view is breathtaking. One can't simply see the top of the mountain. It looks as though the rock is tearing the sky and never ending in the top. Beautiful place and a must visit place in the Yosemite.

El Capitan is the most magnificent wall on planet Earth. This peak causes too many deaths by climbers. El Capitan was climbed by Honnold A. 6 years ago for the first time with no rope. This means "Free solo" . And also with the same name movie realised after this happened. I wanna go there . Maybe I can't but I have too much information about Yosemite National Park to give to you. Belive me I can this. I write this comment to reach peak comment rating. I'm joking this is wrong . This is actually serious problem I believe. I don't know what I am talking about....

If you want to get close, I mean really up close to El Capitan, then take the short walk, scramble from the Valley Loop Trail, up/over to the Base of the Nose. Without much trouble, just follow the "trail" towards El Cap and you will find yourself at the very base of El Cap itself. This is where, in my opinion, El Cap literally "comes out of the ground" - Well worth the effort to make the...

Cool spot to hike to if you want to get to the base of El Capitan. It was a shorter hike but had lots of rocks that you needed to watch out for so you didn’t turn an ankle. Definitely loved being able to touch the base of the rock when I got to the finish. It’s amazing how beautiful and...
