Very beautiful and peaceful trail to hike. It is a very popular trail for people to hike. Make sure you take pictures here! You'll always walk past some friendly fellow hikers on this path. The Oakland traffic can be a challenge to get through depending on the time visitors decide to leave. I'd recommend going in the morning between 7-11 A.M. There is parking on the side of the road along the entrance to the trail head. In addition, there is a small parking lot with available spaces, but they can fill up fast. Drive slow once you enter the curvy roads leading up to this trail head so you don't miss it. Once there, follow the trail as far as you'd like. If you choose to do the whole trail you'll come to a big gravel road at the end which contains a portable restroom. After that you can turn around and follow the trail back to the entrance. The whole trail should take you less than hour or so max if you don't stop and take pictures.

On our last hike, we saw three different pregnant women—it is that easy of a hike on the main trail. It is popular for bikes. If you are hiking, it is best not to wear a headset because it makes it harder to hear the when the bicyclists come up from behind. You park on the stree—on Skyline. Make sure you don't leave valuables in the car—because there is broken glass from car break-ins. If you like getting off the beaten trail, there many side paths to explore. Dogs are allowed but they have to be on a leash. It's easy to social distance because the trails are wide.

🌳 🥾 🚶‍♂️ Beautiful trail with huge trees, the perfect escape into nature but right in Oakland. The trail is relatively flat surrounded but big trees. It can be a bit chilly. On weekends, it is packed with bicyclists and dog walkers so get there in a weekday if you can! Parking is just along the road. Make sure to avoid leaving valuables in the car. There are also some tables at the start of the trail.

I had a good morning walking at least a quarter of a mile and a couple of bikers came by me but didn't give me a heads up which kind of gave me a child they did apologize and they said good morning which made me feel a lot better and safer as they Royal Road off down the hill. This is a beautiful walk up in the Sequoias and the air is fresh and relatively safe. As far as parking I found parking because I was there very early in the morning. But this seems to be a favorite spot for a lot of people I used to come up here years ago and now it's just as beautiful as it was then. Some people seem to have fear around their cars and I don't have that fear I just lock it up and go...
