Had a fantastic time walking the Big Trees trail loop starting from this trailhead! There are only a couple of steep down or uphill points, and otherwise it’s a very mellow hike through the redwoods, oaks, and laurel trees. Parking on the road was easy. There’s a bathroom near the Redwood Glen picnic area (the trail splits off to the left before you get there), but the men’s was locked and the women’s didn’t lock, BUT there was TP and running water, plus a big mural on the outside! I’ll take it. Lots of lovely benches along the beginning of the hike. Dogs must be on leash. Mountain bikers are supposed to wear bells, but some didn’t and weren’t very polite when passing— it’s courteous to call out what side you’re passing on and how many are in your group. Can’t...
