What started out as a drive in the truck with bikes left home on a windy day turned into a fun day riding, exploring and meeting interesting friendly people. We visited Killarney Station to check out the West Orange Trail. The day was pretty windy, so we left our bicycles home. When we arrived we realized we made a mistake as many people were enjoying the trail. Not to worry though, we were able to rent a tandem bicycle for a reasonable rate from the bike shop. After a brief adjustment period for the two of us to learn how to ride one bike, we were able to enjoy the scenes of beautiful live oaks, cool buildings and a nature preserve along this excellent trail. We road about 5 miles into Winter Garden and 5 miles back and had the opportunity to meet and enjoy the stories of nice people along the way.

Killarney Station is a great place to park, use restrooms, picnic and visit the bike shop for a trail map. I started biking from here the first day in Winter Garden. It was my first experience on the WOT. I headed towards east for about 6 miles. Most of the trail had a lot of stops to cross roads leading to/from developments. There was a lot of traffic. Some trail sections were serene, but all in all, I enjoyed the ride more from downtown Winter Garden towards Apopka Station.

Great trail to ride on. The only thing I didn't like was all the road crossing. It's nice to find a place that has bike rentals, sales, and repairs on the trial heads. The WOT has a lot of scenery along the way Many choices for stopping and taking pictures if you want to. Winter Gardens is an absolutely beautiful area. Restaurants and bars and stores etc all thru town. The town pipes music thru the streets also . We are going back to explore the town.

This is basically one of the best places for entering the West Orange Trails for either riding walking, running and many other activities. There's a picnic area along with restrooms and a small bike shop that offers bike rentals and some snacks from there you have to decide what level of challenge is right for you, if you head east the trail is easy with great views and great stops along the way including other parks and trail heads 30 plus miles round trip. To the west its a very challenging barrage of hills that could strain a new rider eventually leading to lake Minneola a must see! With such great scenery its so worth it round trip is about 25 miles both are great trails. As always lock up and don't leave items in your car I've never had anything taken so its just being...

This has to be one of the most used trails in Orange County because it's well maintained, macadam, wide and goes right through the middle of downtown Winter Garden where you can stop for a meal or snack at the many restaurants and ice cream shops. Bicyclists train every weekend on this trail but there's plenty of room for the runners, joggers and dog walkers too. There are several stations along the route to rest and get water, or just bird watch. Winter Garden has a farmers' market every Saturday morning right along the trail that offers much more than fresh produce. Try it....
