After much consideration I decided to grab dinner from our local Bojangles for me and my wife. We decided on the drivethru and ordered the 12 pc Bo tender family meal with dirty rice, coleslaw, bisquits and lemonade. The young lady at the drivethru asked us to park and said she will bring our order out. Chatting with my wife I realized that nearly 20 minutes passed. I also noticed a lot of business going through the drivethru. I thought maybe they were short staffed, so I went inside to grab our order. The young lady apologized and said they ran out of bisquits for our order and asked if she could give us Bo-berry biscuits instead? I didn't know what a Bo-berry biscuit was, but I agreed. A timer went off and she said that our regular biscuits just finished cooking. I was annoyed that it took so long. I left with our order and 4 Bo-berry biscuits. We stopped at light just before home and I asked my wife to open the bag and check out our mystery biscuits. They looked ridiculous, and by ridiculous, I mean ridiculously good. We shared one right there. Y'all the rain stopped, clouds parted, sun shined brightly, and the birds started to sing. This mystery biscuit was hot fresh chock full of blueberries and iced just right. In that moment all transgressions were forgiven. It's no wonder the Bo-berry biscuit has it's very own commercial. It absolutely deserves one. When we arrived home we opened up the bag to enjoy the rest of our lunch and everything that was supposed to be hot was just that. Hot and fresh. How many times have we waited for food, only to have the order delayed by one item, only to have the bulk of our order getting cold while the "fries" are cooked? This store did it right. The dirty rice was buttery and delicious. The coleslaw was cold fresh and crisp. The chicken tenders were wonderful. Try the peach hot honey pepper. If you like lemonade thiers is awesome and never ever leave without some Bo-berry biscuits. They are absolutley worth...
Read moreWe came twice, once for dinner and once for breakfast. Dinner was a 3, breakfast was a 5 (minus the iced coffee) so we gave it a 4.
For dinner we had a sandwich meal with fries, a tender meal with fries, and an additional side of cole slaw, and sweet tea. The food was all a good size and the cole slaw and sweet tea were great! The biscuit it came with was delicious. Our favorite part. The fries and chicken were very old though .There was a lot of chicken cooked and being stored in a warming bin, but they also didn't have much business so the chicken was going very slow. The people that came in an hour after us would have been getting even older chicken, so I wouldn't suggest going at night.
Breakfast however was great! The chicken biscuit was hot and fresh. And with some honey, it was awesome. The potatoes rounds are fine and the iced coffee is not very good😂 but the bo berry biscuits were very tasty! We did have to go back however because they didn't give us extra icing like we had asked for. I do want to point out too that while we waited, two different people came up to the counter saying their order was wrong or something was missing.
As far as the workers go, I would say they're pretty friendly to the customers:) there's just not much sense of urgency and it looks like maybe it's not the best working environment. One of the managers when we came at night was constantly bad mouthing his employees. He was friendly to us, but it's sad to see a manager do that.
As far as atmosphere, it's nothing special. It's better for a...
Read moreI recently visited Bo's Chicken and left with mixed feelings about the overall experience. The tenders were undoubtedly a highlight – perfectly seasoned, crispy on the outside, and tender on the inside. They managed to hit the mark on flavor and texture, leaving me satisfied.
However, my disappointment stemmed from the inconsistency in menu offerings. The limited availability of chicken biscuits until a certain time was a letdown, and the absence of bone-in chicken options further narrowed the choices. The restricted access to these items detracted from the anticipated variety and left me feeling like Bo's Chicken fell short of being a comprehensive chicken joint.
While the tenders were undeniably tasty, the disappointment of missing out on signature items due to time constraints and a lack of diversity in the menu left me feeling that Bo's Chicken was just another place specializing in tenders. As someone who craves a broader selection and the true essence of a chicken joint, I found myself contemplating the worthiness of a return visit.
In comparison, I couldn't help but think about other establishments, like those in Ocala, that offer a more comprehensive and authentic chicken experience. For now, the prospect of driving a bit further seems justified for the promise of the "real thing." Bo's Chicken has potential, but it needs to address its menu limitations, specifically the time-sensitive availability, to truly stand out in the competitive world of...
