Most of the people working here seem fine. I had really high hopes for the services that they could provide from everyone assisting me with onboarding with the program. The one star review is for Eddie the "career advisor." He doesn't answer phone calls or call back. He doesn't respond to emails. He doesn't usually responds to text messages. He is usually uncontactable when I wanted to talk unless I call the office and ask them to have him contact me. He tried to talk me out of available programs that I was eligible for because he didn't want to do the paperwork. He did not inform me of other programs that I was eligible for until months later. He committed to helping me get interviews and find work by a deadline that has long past, but all of the interviews I have gotten were jobs I put all the work in myself. He used to send me emails about job fairs and tell me to go to them even though the jobs that are available don't pay a livable wage and require experience in industries I don't work in. The most responsive and "helpful" he has ever been was when I texted to tell him that I had an interview coming up and asked if he had any tips. He did not have any advice that was useful but he insisted on doing a mock interview. He wanted to do it immediately on the phone. I told him that I'm not ready and want time to prepare, like I would for an interview, and after I refused to let him force me into a conversation neither of us were prepared for I tried to schedule at a time that was good for me. He refused that time and scheduled for a half hour later. I emailed and texted him the job post, the company website, the version of my resume that I sent to the employer, and my notes on the company hours in advance so that he could be prepared for the meeting. I texted him 5 minutes after the scheduled time to check in because he said he would call me. He was a half hour late because he was talking to a coworker during my scheduled time and forgot about my appointment. I asked if he would like to reschedule so that he could be prepared and he insisted he was ready. He proceeded to give me a mock interview and ask me questions about a different job in a different field after I sent him all the information he could have looked over and repeatedly told him that he was asking about the wrong job. The advice he gave me was: tell the interviewer that I'm nervous and uncomfortable at the start of the interview to make sure that they know, answer interview questions to match the specific position they ask about even if I'm not qualified, and don't ask questions about anything positive the company is doing because it makes it sound like I just want the job to benefit myself. He told me that he had more information in his notes, but the notes he emailed were copy/pasted article clips in different fonts and formats of possible interview questions and advice specifically for different jobs in different industries than I'm applying for. If there is anyone in the world worse at helping me get a job, it is Eddie. I feel like I am in a worse position in the job market because of the time and effort I wasted trying to contact and work with him. I have stopped trying to receive services from this organization because I was told that I could not change career advisors. Half of the people on Eddie's caseload could probably do Eddie's job better than he can, but nobody will ever know that because Eddie would not be able to help them...
Read moreTerrible experience, terrible customer service poorly managed and staffed. *summary ( its a long read)
Their phone number is unattended in their mailbox is full you can't get hold of anyone
Their career counselors that are supposed to assist you with finding classes and training do not return phone calls and have no availability
The centers director refuses to meet with you to find a solution or even discuss a problem Matt Roman
-The receptionist is extremely rude and confrontational Vivian yamos
I attended the unemployment orientation (as required by EDD) the class instructor was nice and helpful and suggested signing up for a training class and talk to a career counselor After class and they should be able to help me immediately so after the class I requested to speak counselor they said leave your phone number they will contact you today so I did no phone call no contact us for five days and went back into the career center because there's no way to contact him via phone their mailbox is full don't even try.
I submitted another slip to the career counselor asking for them to contact me once again no contact. So yet again today I entered into the career center when I went the last time they informed me that the counselors will be out all week but not Monday so I went in Monday once again at the front desk was informed there are no career counselors available, When I questioned why I was informed they would be in on Monday she said the supervisor said that they should not be available today note they are in office.
So I asked to speak to supervisor she called him in front of me and and he said that he would not meet with me. When I asked when he would be available to meet with me the receptionist said she was not going to call him back and ask him, that he was in a meeting. So I offered to wait until his meeting is over to find out when he would be available she said she would not call him again for me.
When I asked to his supervisor was she said he doesn't have one. His name is Matt Roman her name is Vivian Yamos (receptionist) When I try to inform her that my situation is a little more urgent since the class I'm trying to get into starts in nine days she Said she didn't care and that if I leave my number he may get back to me. I left my...
