West Coast Sourdough — Restaurant in Oceanside

Service was great. Little crowded at the door where the drink station is located (maybe move that to the back corner near the restrooms). Parking is horrendous and dangerous. People are in a hurry and spaces are small. HINT: Back in to the space when you park so pulling out is easier.

Sandwiches are good, but small and limited on stuff inside. 4” is $10, 6” is $12, 8” is ?. Bread is good, but not anything unique. The meats are good, but there are a few other shops that offer excellent cuts of meat and/or triple the size sandwiches for the same price. Unfortunately, the prices here outweigh the taste. Price cut everything by-$3 and you’d get more return customers. (The employee’s hair, mentioned in another review, was strange. The employees, all females, had hair just flying around. I was in today on my lunch break to get something to eat. The food is very good. I don’t want to take from that. But there was a team of 30 or more soccer players. I got in line and waited patiently. Then a “team mom” came and told me I needed to let the other 10 players get in front of me. When I questioned why I should let 10 girls jump in front of me when they weren’t in line dad became angry. Started threatening me. Followed me to my car. I left because I felt threatened. I was on my lunch break. My point is that someone should have opened another register for those not with the team and someone certainly should have stopped an aggressive man from following a woman to her car. I've started coming here since Boudin's is not very close and I love sourdough. West Coast bread bowls are delicious! I love their clam chowder. The mac n cheese is also really good and pretty close to my home style recipe. I've bought their sourdough loaf to bake at home and it's yummy as well.

The only thing to note is that they are growing in popularity so the lines are getting a little long, but I know people are customizing their sandwiches during peak lunch rush so it's fine.

Place looks clean and staff are friendly, but it doesn't have as much as a sit down vibe as Boudin's, more like a small corner deli. Which again is fine as I take my bread bowls to go. Overall I will keep coming back for...
