On my trip to Texas, I made this the top priority to stop here and pay my respects to a man that gave so much and acted as the eyes and guardian to so many men and women.
The memorial itself is very well maintained and when you get to it, the gravity and intense nature of it starts to descend on you. It isn't an uneasy feeling at all but one of honor and respect. His morals and thoughts are spread around the site leaving no area that isn't in some way under his influence.
At its center is the statue of this great man holding the flag high and pushing forward as he always did with one of his signature instruments of his protection. If you visit Odessa, please take the time to stop by this memorial and read his messages. It is a fantastic memorial.

I gave it 5 stars is because of what it stands for to me; our veterans need help and they may NOT be okay. As much combat as Chris Kyle saw, he was killed state-side by another veteran that was having trouble adjusting to civilian life or that had suffered some type of trauma while deployed. Being ex-military (never deployed), I've seen how some return "changed". Our veterans need our help, not our pity, judgement...
