Northwest Ohio Railroad Preservation and Riverside Train — Attraction in Ohio

This was a fun experience. The train ride was, fun for the grandchildren but the red-hot embers coming from the smoke stack of the coal-fueled steam engine were a bit concerning. There were not a ton of them flying up into the night sky, but enough that I was worried that if the wind was to blow just a little stronger it could have been bad. When you then go into the building where all the Christmas trees are set up it becomes fun again. Searching through the trees for all the little elves was an enjoyable activity for everyone, almost ever person in there was looking having a good time. There are refreshments in here basic stuff, hot cocoa, can of pop, cookies, and popcorn and the best part it's all very inexpensive at $1.00 for everything I would definitely go...

Extremely helpful and knowledgeable staff! My kids loved the elf hunt especially. The train was neat it is a steam engine. As you ride the train there are light shows set up along the way. Each train ride is two laps around the track or 12 minutes roughly. As you wait to ride the train one of the knowledgeable employees explains the history of the steam engine. At Christmas time there is a big barn you go into after you ride the train to view hundreds of Christmas trees. Always a family favorite in December. They have a great Mr and Mrs Claus, super fun elf hunt, great lights and the train room is always fun to view. For the Christmas ride, you will wait in line, how long just depends on the weather. Totally worth it for a fun family night out. We've enjoyed the egg hunt from years past too.
