We were the only visitors early Saturday morning right after they opened, so there was no wait or a line. From the outside it is a very large building but once we were inside, I was surprised at how small the museum area actually was. Luckily the fee to enter is small. The contents are very impressive. The sheer amount of antique fire engines that are pristinely restored is enough to knock your socks off. There is firehouse memorabilia and artifacts everywhere the eye can see and beyond. They even have a kids area with themed coloring pages and toys that they can play with. My four year old especially loved playing with the toy fire trucks. The museum also includes a modest gift shop area with reasonably priced souvenirs. You can spend a good couple of hours pouring over each item and reading all the information posted. Out front is a playground and a couple more fire engines that you can climb on for some really...
Read moreIt’s a great museum if you want to learn more about firefighters and first responders. The museum shows you vehicles used by fire departments in past and present, the job of firefighters, in history involving Oklahoma City, firefighters and other information. The museum is quite big also being close to other museums, such as the science museum and the 45th infantry museum as well as the Oklahoma City zoo. if you’re in the area and are a former first responder, or you are interested in the first responder topic and you enjoy or admire firefighters, a.k.a. the red thin line then you should definitely check out the firefighters museum staff friendly, and I have no complaints. Check out if you’re in...

They can't run the machine for us, but there is a video of it that you can scan a QR code and watch. Very well worth watching. They also have an extensive collection of patches from all over. There is a catalog that lists where the patches are from, so most out-of-towners can find their hometown fire department in this collection. One suggestion: I would like to see more information on the lovely fire engines. It seems like little is...
