I love this park. My daughter loves this park. However, I advise anyone reading this to not visit on a Sunday. Not only is the park usually jam-packed crowded, but I had to leave about 30 minutes after arriving due to too many parents not watching their children. I had to break up a fist fight between two brothers, ages 7 and 10, while their parents were in a van in the parking lot. (Yes, it was an actual fist fight with the bigger brother picking up his little brother by the shirt and slamming him into the ground). A 3 year old pinched his finger in one of the playground's toys and was bleeding a little bit. Again I tried to find the parents but I couldn't watch him and my two year old alone. I don't know if he found them or not. A 7 year old girl accidentally flipped her swing next to us and broke her arm. Her brother was PULLING on it trying to get her up. I rushed over and told him to never pull on a broken arm then asked where their parents were. He pointed to the gazebo about 200 feet away from the park. I had my sister-in-law who thankfully showed up watch my daughter as I escorted her to her mom (I tried explaining what happened but she couldn't understand English). I was on edge the entire time I was there and it felt like pure chaos. Don't go on Sundays unless you are willing to take on the role of parents who should be watching their kids. There needs to be monitors of some type (officers maybe?) if the park can legally be that crowded. Again I LOVE this park, we try to go twice a week after work, but I strongly advise to not...
Read moreGreat pond to fish at, Bass and Panfish are plentiful and the turtles are cool. My only issues are that theres a LOT of weeds in the water, the fish are stunted (big panfish hide in a certain area but anywhere else and their tiny, catfish are harder to come by and they're tiny. Maybe consider stocking a few big Bass and Catfish). The baitfish are cool, seen a penny size shad and schools of tiny minnow-like fish. But there have been muktiple times that I've seen either a Beaver or Muskrat, which is very bad for the fish. The Beav-Rat would eat the fish and decimate the pond in no time. Trapping it and releasing it somewhere else would work, also maybe adding a spawning structure or brush pile would add more baitfish and panfish. There are some photos of some fish on a Facebook Page called "Fishing With Friends", they have kids go fishing and fight bullying but they always catch the smal fish. Maybe having a trophy fish catch would really make it a popular pond. I love to fish there and there's always nice people fishing. There may or may not be carp and/or striped/hybrid bass there too but I've never caught them. Adhesion nice pond for a little outing but if you're looking for trophy size, consider a different pond. The photos here are a sample of the fish, the bass are always light, always and the panfish are tiny.
Edit: these are some pictures of the fish me and my...
Read moreI like to park okay. It only has one play area and it is geared for older children, but my toddler does play here. Oklahoma City Parks and recreation does not do a very good job keeping the place clean. I will warn you to make sure that your child and yourself wear shoes. There is a lot of glass in other broken objects in the play area and the parking lot. There is a lot of traction and I would just ask if everybody do their part and pick up as they come to help out and keep it safe for children. There are plenty of places to have a picnic here. And there is a place to fish and there is a sport complex. There is a nice walking trail and a nice pond...
