I went on the $2 tuesday. It was very crowded as expected but not to where I thought I might be able to get a couple of rides out of wearing a wristband. After purchasing the wristband and going to one of the lines I realized the time standing in the line was quite long and it didn't look like I would have enough time to ride too many rides based off of what time they might try to close the par. So I went back to the same ticket booth where I purchased the band and asked if I could swap my brand new unused band for the tickets on the card. They informed me that I had to go to the other side of the park to where the other ticket booths were and speak to 1 of the white tents for the general assistance. After reaching the booth I was then informed that they could not switch out my band for a card. Why would they not inform the ticket booth to tell us that there are no exchanges instead of having to go to the other side of the park to find that information out. Now at that point I got very frustrated and was just ready to leave but I thought about me missing out on my money because you can't reuse the wristbands after that day. If I had the card I could reuse it but not with the wristband so I decided to try and ride as many rides as I could which ended up not being many.. Other than that I did...
Read moreI have to say this year's State Fair was the CLEANEST I've ever been to! The crews were very diligent & thorough. I stopped 2 sets of janitorial staff to tell them how much I appreciated them. Also, the golf cart staff helped get me get to our car after I returned the rental scooter, as it was far from our parking area. Only thing that was an issue were the prices for food & drink. Was very expensive! Even so, however, the food was good that we tried. Had fried oreos & was surprised how good they were! Soft inside & crispy batter. Not heavy or overly sweet. Only had 1, tho' as very rich. It was $5 for 4, tho'. Too high$! Steak sandwiches near cattle barn - fantastic! $8 each, but had more meat than before & grilled to perfection! Plenty to see & enjoy. Kid's petting zoo area great! Lots of free exhibits; missed times for dog trucks show. 😢...
Read moreI attended during the fair. The park is actually much bigger than I thought, and the further I walked, the more the park kept growing. From Gate 1, there are several large warehouses all the way at the other end or back of the park that house the animals. The petting zoo is in the Oklahoma building. All of the rides are in one area of the park, and food trucks are lined up every walkway. Several companies and vendors are in one of the large warehouses. The restrooms were very clean. There are so many areas and sections to the fair, I could not see it all. Overall, I thought it was organized very well. There are self-service kiosks to purchase credits on a card pass and armbands as well. This helps to alleviate lines. They scan your card...
