EL SABOR DE LA BAJA OKC — Restaurant in Oklahoma City

Considering all the positive reviews I question whether I went to the same restaurant.

Went here for midweek lunch. Service was great and friendly. Music was LOUD and made it challenging to communicate with the waitress but I managed. No one in the restaurant seemed to be visiting with their table mates. Probably because the music was so loud.

Tacos were recommended. I ordered 1 fried fish and 1 grilled shrimp.

Fried fish taco was very good. However,the shrimp taco was very bland and dry. Yes, the shrimp were dry. I tried adding salt, lime, salsa but still no bueno. Freezer burned shrimp? I dunno but very disappointing. It tasted like some major seasonings / ingredients were missing. I mentioned it to the waitress but she thought it looked correct. No offer was made to rectify it or get something else.

Wagon wheel shaped “chip” things were interesting and very novel but tasted mediocre. Salsa too. I would have preferred standard chips and salsa

I wanted to like this place but ultimately could not because half my meal...

Overall I rate it 3/10 we were visiting Oklahoma City and started looking for somewhere to eat we looked at many places and decided on this one based on reviews and pictures of the food. The food was kind of expensive to be honest so we were expecting amazing flavors and although the presentation was great, the food was AWFUL! My husband ordered chicken fajitas and it was COVERED in melted cheese, it was like thick cheese sauce all throughout the dish, inedible $32 dollars to the trash. My kids had a simple taco, just meat and tortilla and that was $5 each, my molcajete was also covered in cheese and pretty tasteless. I was pretty upset, my husband was so disappointed with his meal he couldn’t even eat half, when i explained to the waitress she simply said that’s the way they do things there and we should have asked for none, I’ve never seen cheese on fajitas before, let alone a melted cheese brick but ok. Also, no chips and salsa, just stale chicharrones instead. We stopped on at the gas station on the way home and...

It was okay. The steak was good. My husband was not a fan.. and he is Hispanic and loves seafood. Wish they had a few more non seafood options to choose from on the menu for those of us who come and are not a big fan of seafood. It was recommended to me to bring him here by someone who knows he loves seafood. The girl did not even ask what I wanted to drink.. 🥴.. we had ordered waters ...mine with lime in which I did not get that either.. they had live music.. it was pretty cool.. just really loud in such a small atmosphere.. anyways.. the place was okay.. the service was okay.. not really friendly as customer service should be... kinda like, we were interrupting a conversation.. especially when I went to pay.. I spent way more than what we got. I have gone to places that have great service and the food is priced accordingly.. I do not mind paying if the food is worth it.. we had to go and ask for the bill.. from another...
