So, I am going to start by saying normally if I have nothing nice to say I try to keep it to myself, however I feel this needs to be said so others can be warned! First the service at Mau Marine is non-existent, never in my life have I heard of some one treating people like this when they have spent over $160,000.00 (in more than one purchase). We bought a brand new 2020 Tige ZX3 in 2021 (so a carry over boat) and we were super happy with the sales service that Kyle provided us with. Going forward we have run into some issues. The boat has an O2 sensor alarm that seems to go off every year with no fix to be found so we get to keep taking the boat back to the shop. This year it spent 7 weeks there (some of that was due to the flooding and I get uncontrollable) with no contact besides if we called into see what was going on and when they thought it would be done! We were under the impression that when finished they would bring it back to us (we are about an hour away and the past year they had brought it back when done, it did come back very dirty with beer cans in the glove box that were not there prior to dropping off but they did bring it back to us!) However, when checking one day we were told the boat had been done for a while and we could come get it but that it would be $700, this should all be warranty work and cost nothing. Fast forward to this past weekend and we had the boat out for the second time since getting it back. With no total surprise the alarm goes off again! My husband texted and called the owner as they have been in contact on this issue and she replied with only that she will have Tige contact us directly! So even though this is not a problem that we can help they are just done with us with no solutions! Apparently once they get your money, they are done with you! So, if you want to have no support after making such a big purchase this is your boat dealer!!
04/15/2025 RESPONSE:
I see after 8 months you have responded to the review I left last fall! In response to letting you know what you can do? The answer is nothing!!! We actually took our boat to Heinen Motorsports this past fall and unlike your service department ever did (according to Tige and Indmar) they got them (indmar) on a computer to look over everything on our boat and it came back as a cracked manifold So, Tige approved the total replacement of our exhaust system with no charge to us!!! So, going forward we will only be dealing with them for any of our Tige needs. As for what your service center and dealership can do going forward I would recommend taking this as a learning experience! I can list the things not to do:
Leave your garbage in as customers boat (we found beer cans in our glove box and we DON"T drink beer! and it was cleaned before bringing it in) Not responding to customers ( maybe just contact them during process) Not clearing any possible charges that will not be covered under the warranty (any work should be approved before just doing it!) Never let the owner just tell a customer they are done with them! As then they will also be done with you and make sure all family and friends do the same! Bring all things when returning a boat (Our cover was left behind when the boat was delivered to us before) Leave a boat just sitting in the water ( We recieved pictures of our boat sitting in the water overnight (we never do that it is always in a lift and wiped down after every use) Think that after 3 years of the same shit that a customer will just keep coming back and giving more chances to figure things out.
So my words of wisdom would be to tell your service department to treat it like they spent their own $150,000 on the boat they are working on, making sure to look over everything and doing all that can be done while treating the property with respect! Respect and kindness go a long way in our world today and I am pretty sure that is something we were never treated with at your dealership! So do with this as you will but we will take our Tige needs to Heinen's...
Read moreOn July 3rd a group of friends and I rented out the Searay 205 for the day. Prior to leaving the dock the man checking us in showed us everything on the boat including chips and scrapes except for the prop, in which he stated “the prop is in perfect condition and there is no need for you guys to look at it, trust me.” Without even thinking of it we took the boat out for a great day on the water, cruising around in nothing under 10 feet of water. On return of the boat a new worker greeted us at the dock acting very suspicious asking “just curious as to what exactly you guys did and where you guys went.” We answered truthfully, stating that we cruised around a bit, staying within the boundaries, and being very responsible. As we were all packing up, and one of us in the group was checking us out the man who checked us back in radioed to the office stating that the “prop was mangled and we needed to come look at it.” In complete shock we returned to our boat where the man informed us that two huge chunks were taken from two different blades on the prop. The discussion continued and the man did not show us the prop with the “two chunks removed,” and stated that we would have had to hit a rock, or been whipping the boat and hit a dock in a no-wake zone, both of which were impossible as we were never in shallow enough water nor being reckless like insinuated. Having lived on a boat for three consecutive months and crossing an entire ocean I was well aware that a hit like this would have been known, in both sound and feel. The man confirmed this by stating that we “for sure” would have heard and felt the hit and also the boat would have driven different, none of which actually occurred. Out of the 8 of us onboard not one heard/felt a thing and each of us agreed that the boat had driven just the same the entire day. When questioning the validity of this $300+ charge to the man in the office, he threatened us with an $800+ charge as he already had a card on file. Overall, our experience with Mau Marine was one of the worst I have personally witnessed. The entire rental was sketchy and disheartening. I feel that we were blamed and discriminated against due to our younger age. We were accused of something we did not do nor were we treated respectfully, and charged an exorbitant amount for a ridiculous matter in which we were not shown prior to or following rental. When in the area I highly suggest you ignore this place to save your vacation the time and stress of this horrendous,...
Read moreWe purchased a brand new tritoon last summer (2021). We brought it back for some warranty work in September and paid for storage there so the work could be completed at any point before the next summer. We called several times early spring to check on the progress. We got good updates on what was left to be completed. We came to pick it up right before Memorial Day weekend and were quite disappointed with the service department. We called ahead (giving them 3 hours notice) saying that we are planning to pick the boat up. We were told over the phone that we would have to hook up the battery ourselves and that everything else was ready to go. Seems a little strange that we would have to do this ourselves as we paid $$$$ to store it there all winter, but it is what it is. We got to our boat and found that the battery disconnect was not bolted/secured. The employee that was helping us took 1.5 hours to get the proper tools and hardware needed to fix it correctly. It seems like this should have been found much sooner than when it was. We wasted a good chuck of our day just waiting for it to be fix when the boat was sitting...
