This is a great little slot canyon for a short hike. It has some technical parts that aren’t great for younger kids or those with physical challenges.
You hike in through the wash to the opening of the slot canyon, then make your way up until you hit the section with a rope to climb up. At that point, you can decide to turn around or continue up the rope. If able, it’s definitely worth it to go up the rope. Eventually there will be another section that could have a rope, but the rope is gone. You’ll need to shimmy up the wall to get up.
Sandals or flip flops are not recommended. Good boots or hiking shoes with traction are suggested.
Most of the trail is sandy.
The canyon provides endless views and is quite beautiful. Would like to have explored more, but ran out of time. Hiked for about an hour+.
The road in can be confusing, but you’ll just want to head in on the dirt road toward the water tower.
If you get lost, the neighbors are friendly enough to point you in the right...
Read moreI did this 2 and 1/2 years ago but all the pictures got lost when my phone went into a ice cold 10 ft pool of water on another hike. I'm so glad since the last time I've been there. It's so much easier to find now. The last time I went to and a half years ago we went three times trying to find it. It doesn't disappoint it's absolutely spectacular. If you bring a dog please note that you have to put your dog on leash when the horses are around and there's a lot of them now. I think someone has started a business that's doing tours there now. It's not super deep dirt to get to it it's more like gravel dirt. Before you enter the slot though you should absolutely check out the cool kind of cave on the left. What you should note is that you do need to do some scrambling and at the end you would have to do some chimneys up 15 ft. I took my cattle dog and he...
Read moreThis was our first slot canyon ever so of course it was cool to us! Easy hike but the trail is unmarked so we weren't sure if we were in the right place or going the right way. Luckily we ran into another hiker that assured us we were. If you follow google maps it tells you you have arrived before you are there. We were worried we were going down a private drive at first because the pavement ends once you pass a few houses and you continue straight onto a dirt road that ends at a fence. Once you start the trail take a left at the fork and another left at the wash and follow it all the way there. There are a few boulders you have to climb over once in the canyon but it isn't difficult. Canyon ends with a rope climb. We had a puppy and toddler so we didn't climb it so not sure...
