Our family of three loved the yurt experience the most! We stayed in the yurt for 2 nights and then we tried the treehouse for 1 night.||As for the yurt, we thought it was spacious and easy to move around. It was very clean and cozy. The air conditioner worked great and it stayed very cool during the entire stay. The shower is a little tight, however that is to be expected inside of a yurt since there is not much space for the bathroom. ||We stayed in yurt #5, which has a great view of the mountains. We really enjoyed the outside seating area with the gas fireplace (great for watching the sunset). There is also a small deck with a grill. ||While the treehouse is super cute and offers a very unique experience, it is definitely provides a much tighter space. There was a king size bed in the loft with low ceilings. As adults, we had to walk around on our knees. The stairs are also very narrow. ||Our teen (roughly 5’4”) slept on a full size pullout sofa. The bed runs a little short, our teen’s feet hung over the edge.||The treehouse has a nice shower with a rain-style faucet and large countertop in the bathroom. The kitchen on the other hand, has a very small countertop. However, a pop-up countertop for additional space near the main door. ||While the air conditioner worked inside, I don’t believe the treehouse is insulated very well because we had it on the lowest setting (67°), and it still felt fairly warm the entire day (there is a small fan in the loft). Where as when we stayed inside the yurt, we set the air conditioner at 73° and feel comfortable. ||The treehouse the rock climbing space was not child friendly. One of our friends, a fit, male adult who participates at a rock climbing gym, found it challenging to climb. It would be nice to see larger rock climbing pieces that are more appropriate for kids, including some sort of soft landing material like rubber at the bottom in case kids fall. ||Behind the treehouse, there is a large wooden swing and a wood-burning fireplace with seats. It was disappointing that this fireplace was wood vs gas because we didn’t realize we had to bring our own wood. Also, a previous visitor must have had a dog with them, because there was poop in the yard and I kept coming across small white hairs in the upper loft.||Where the yurts are located, there are pools, hot tubs, and 2 laundry areas on site. It’s easy to move around the complex. There is a permanent food truck near the entrance. There is also the Co-Op Cafe nearby, which serves great pizza and ice cream. The Co-Op also has an attached gift shop. If you plan to visit the Zion National Park and the town of Springdale, keep in mind they are roughly an hour away. Springdale has a lot of great shops and more quality restaurant options.||The treehouse is located outside the resort, a couple of blocks away nestled between houses. There are no nice views and a lot of junk just beyond the fence line. ||While, I would not opt to stay in the treehouse more than one night, I definitely would stay multiple days in the yurt. The yurt was more spacious, located within the resort complex, and offered a great view.||The staff were very responsive to emails and responded in a timely manner (not phone calls though).||I would highly recommend staying at this resort, as the good far out weighed the negatives. The main resort offer several unique sleeping arrangements that are...
Read moreEast Zion Resort is, without a doubt, one of the most special places we've ever been. Whether you’re planning an unforgettable wedding, a meaningful gathering, or just looking for a unique and adventurous weekend getaway, this place is something truly extraordinary. We hosted our wedding at East Zion Resort, and it was not only a dream come true—it was a life-changing experience for us and so many of our guests. People who had never been to this part of the country left already planning when they could return. And the heart of it all? Shaun (aka Sharkey) He’s not just a host—he became a friend, and the most instrumental part of making our celebration unforgettable. We flew out from Alabama to tour the property ahead of time, and Shaun personally showed us around. From yurts, treehouses, and mirror homes to cozy cabins and lodges, every accommodation option was incredible. (My cousin even ordered the mattress after her stay because she loved it so much! Haha) Our bridal party stayed at the main lodge, which was perfect in every way—spacious, scenic, and full of personality. But East Zion is more than a place to stay. It’s an experience. We kicked off the weekend with a rehearsal celebration on-site, followed by a “Love on the Rocks” welcome party at the Cliff Lodge complete with live acoustic music on the porch, and even—rock climbing and rappelling, thanks to Shaun’s connections and support who brought a wild idea I had to life to include that in our wedding festivities. Guests were blown away. Also the actual wedding venue is surreal. Throughout the week, our friends and family explored Zion and Bryce, and at night everyone gathered back at the resort to relax in the lazy river, hot tubs, and around the fire pits. It gave us the exact kind of environment we hoped for: time to explore during the day, and quality time together every evening. One of my favorite memories was our adventure photo shoot in the slot canyons, where Shaun joined us with our photographer—he truly went above and beyond at every turn. Whether it was guiding us through the area, organizing activities, or just checking in with a smile, Shaun brought warmth and intentionality to everything. Even if you're not planning a wedding, this is the perfect spot for a weekend getaway. The accommodations are incredible, the views are unreal, and the location—right between Zion and Bryce—is ideal for exploring Southern Utah. Whether you want adventure or just relaxation, East Zion Resort has it all. The hospitality here is unmatched, the vibe is unforgettable, and the memories we made will stay with us forever. We truly can't...
