Stepping into the North American Bigfoot Center is like tumbling down a rabbit hole into a universe where cryptozoology, science, and belly laughs collide in the most delightfully unexpected way. Picture this: one minute you're gazing at a life-sized Sasquatch replica that seems to wink at you and the next you're chuckling at a Nutella jar exhibit that’s so bizarre it could only have been inspired by Bigfoot’s secret midnight snack habits. Seriously, who knew that a jar of chocolate hazelnut spread could spark such a wild theory?
From the quirky gift shop bursting with Bigfoot-themed treasures to the immersive exhibit halls where every display feels like a page out of an epic, offbeat adventure novel, this place is a non-stop festival of fun. Interactive displays challenge you to compare your own fingerprints to those “mysterious” Sasquatch prints—talk about a hairy situation!
Founded by none other than Cliff Barackman, the genius behind “Finding Bigfoot,” this center isn’t just a museum; it’s a high-spirited research hub where the thrill of discovery meets a healthy dose of humor. The team here isn’t shy about mixing scientific curiosity with a good-natured chuckle—imagine learning Bigfoot’s latest “sighting” theory while someone cracks a joke about the creature’s possible secret love for stand-up comedy!
Every inch of the experience exudes charm and quirky authenticity, making it a must-see whether you’re a die-hard believer, a curious skeptic, or just someone in need of a good laugh and a great story. If you’ve ever dreamed of an adventure that stretches your imagination (and your funny bone) to elastic extremes, then prepare to be dazzled. The North American Bigfoot Center is absolutely, unequivocally awesome—an epic playground for the mind and spirit with a hearty side...
Read moreWe were in the area and for Father's Day, took a detour before heading back to Washington. The price was very affordable (we received a Father's Day discount, but even without that, still affordable!). The museum didn't disappoint. As another tourist noted, it's small, super cute, campy roadside attraction thats filled with informative readings & videos for the believers and non-believers. It was a fun time to spend an hour and worth the detour.
Ironically enough, we were listening to an audiobook (Devolution by Max Brooks - the guy who wrote World War Z) & was just at the end of it before pulling up at the museum. Yes, it was about Sasquatch and yes, we knew it was fiction, but getting into the story - and pausing, mind you, just when it gets to a climax - then stepping into a Bigfoot museum was a bit uncanny (for lack of better word).
I would have given this 5 stars, but when we started to tell the story to the two young guys at the register about the audiobook, they immediately blew us off (rude!), snubbing their nose because it was "Hollywood" - which was the biggest irony. Here these two are, literally "selling" what the majority of the world thinks is fiction and rebuffs a couple of tourists over a book. Quite disrespectful, impolite and ill-mannered, considering they never even heard of the story but literally sell all the Sasquatch campy goods in their gift shop! SMH. It's a solid 4...
