It's a quiet morning in Oriental. We have a guest cruiser at the town dock. The MV Blackbeard has engines running and is making ready to depart. The boats come and go and the Towndock. And you never know when someone will come through from places far and foreign. A lovely little town.

Can't speak for the boating side of things, but from land, this dock seemed well organized and put together. It's a very convenient location for visiting sailors, as you end up right in the middle of town next to an inn and restaurant and across from the coffee shop.

Summertime in Oriental is the best. The farmers market on Saturday mornings is so fun then hit the Bean for some breakfast and coffee. You can walk to everything there and the shops and restaurants are outstanding. There is always live music playing somewhere on Saturday nights. There are Air BNB houses you can rent rite in the village which are way better than a hotel room. It's a great spot for a nice weekend and if you like taking photos of sunrises or sunsets then you'll get some great shots. Not to mention all the trawlers are packed in the harbor on weekends and they make for some great pics as well. Come see for yourself. You'll not be...

Looks like a great place to tie up. Close (walking distance) to Inland Waterway Provision Company and good restaurants. The two closest restaurants (right at the dock) are both currently closed (one demolished after hurricane Florence).

Oriental is a great stop on the ICW and the town dock is great for those...
