Lou Mac Park — Attraction in Oriental

Located alongside of the Neuse River and the sleepy town of Oriental. It is a quiet park with limited Adirondack chairs and plenty of parking. It provides a nice view of the Neuse River and the surrounding community. There is a pier located near the main park area where fishing is encouraged but you will have to be wary of the rocks that line shoreline. Dogs are welcome but owners are asked to clean-up after their pet. Lou Mac Park is also home to several seasonal events such as “Spirit of Christmas” and several arts and crafts shows hosted by the town of Oriental. Big water all around, a short pier to stretch your legs, and lots of comfy seating and some shade for sitting and watching the boats, water, and clouds. It's not a large park but it couldn't be a more pleasant and welcoming place. Compared to some other waterfront towns, this is a walkable town that welcomes people to enjoy the views. I recommend stopping at The Bean to grab your favorite coffee shop beverage and taking it a few blocks over to drink right...

For a free neighborhood/community park, this little spot is great. There are a number of picnic tables and Adirondack chairs provided. There is also a small pier. Great place to sit and watch the world go by and maybe enjoy a picnic while you listen to the water lap at the edge of the park wall below.
