The team at Jaydon Electronics are honest, dependable, fair, and efficient! I would highly recommend them to anyone looking for repairs to their instruments. Please take some time to read my experience below if you're in the market for repairs.
I have a second-hand Yamaha Clavinova digital piano, model CVP-85A that was purchased for me as a gift last fall. The piano was barely used and even though it is close to 30 years old, it doesn't have a scratch on it, the keys are responsive and dynamic, and the sound is amazing! After moving it to my house and only playing it for two months, I heard a loud POP when I turned it on and a lot of crackling noises. This lasted about a week before the piano was completely unresponsive. I called a popular instrument sales store and they said they would look at it for $60 and they tell me if they could fix it. After driving the piano there and leaving it for 6 weeks, they finally called me to tell me there was nothing they could do and that my (new to me) piano was now just a piece of furniture. The motherboard had severe issues and Yamaha doesn't manufacture them anymore and they do not sell replacement parts.
I search the web for companies that work on digital pianos and came across Jaydon Electronics in Jacksonville, FL as a company that potentially fixes these motherboard issues. Though Jacksonville is across the country from me I figured I would give them a call and see what they have to say. I spoke with Eric and he asked me several questions to diagnose the issue. After hearing the problems, he told me that he has experience with these issues and has had success with making repairs to motherboards. He informed me where the motherboard was and that it could be removed and shipped to him for diagnosis. I searched online for videos on how to remove the board to make sure I was doing things properly to not damage the board, then shipped it to him. Within two days of receiving the boards at his store, he called to tell me they can fix it! I couldn't believe it and I was thrilled!! Within one week I had the motherboard back in my piano and it was working again!
Eric and the team at Jaydon Electronics saved my piano!! It would have been a shame to trash such a beautiful instrument. I was so happy with the service that I contacted him for another repair for the piano. He was able to resolve this issue as well through mail service and the piano is playing like a brand new one! I will be calling Jaydon Electronics anytime I need repairs to my instruments or electronics. I trust them to give me correct information, excellent service, and at a very fair price. I greatly appreciate the work they did and am so relieved to have my piano back....
Read moreThese people are highly-competent, detailed AV electronics people and my two experiences have been stellar. Once had a 1975 Yamaha M-4 Receiver have resistors go bad, and they located 30-year-old schematics for it and got it back to me pretty quickly. Most recently had a Line 6 Acoustic 700 modeling guitar in for repairs that had a dead piezo pickup under one string. Repaired quickly, and I sent a thank-you to them when I got it back; they'd patiently marked every bridge pin they removed so they could put each one back in its' original slot...totally unnecessary, since they are all alike...but they took no chances. There are so few electronics repair shops of this caliber in the U.S., anymore since we've become a throw-away society. Jaydon Electronics is a stand-out in those repair shops. Go to their website and they've got a gob of icons representing all the major electronic manufacturing brands the they are authorized to repair - Adcom, Cerwin-Vega. Roland & Boss. Crown. Ashdown. Fender. Mesa, OSC, Korg, Kawai, Marshall, Mackie, Peavey, Ampeg, Crate, JBL, Yamaha, Behringer, Vox Gallien-Krueger, Digitech, Kurzweil, Randall, Nord, KRK, Line 6, Blackstar, Allen & Heath, Focusrite, SWR, Lowrey, Studiologic ...they're all there! Read moreRE: 2005 PARASOUND A52 MULTICHANNEL AMPLIFIER Eric, Joel said it was you that repaired my amp (the boss himself!!) Well Done! After a new setup was affected, I tested each channel, perfect. My wife was visiting family last night so I could haul out my favorite music collection and move my “power” chair mid room. After my small tube preamp warmed up, I started my beloved listening session. I was blown away. You have restored the bass impact so much that the subwoofer was unnecessary. Even the treble was cleaner / clearer with greater focus and clarity. What I did not realize was the amp was aging and like me (an old man) not at its best. it is better than new!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I looked at your work, first class because it looks original (in most cases). The point is you did well and next week I will laude your virtues. Many thanks, a happy Jaydon customer.
PS in the future shall I send my audiophile friends with similar high-end gear to you or was this a ball buster?
Raymond
Question, because I am using only four channels now, could I disable the center channel to save it? Would there be any bad if I maybe pulled a fuse on the middle channel. What do you think doctor? His answer was to leave channel active. Like a car - electronics needs to be used.
