Salsa Festival was strategically delivered with pizzazz and entertainment. On a regular day to day basis the security guards should have more compassion and humanity when it comes to their attitude and treatment of the homeless community. I've passed by and sat down to rest from the heat, and this fat security guard approached me and told me I couldn't loiter and to get a move on. All because I was carrying a large backpack, my purse, and dressed casually! So he assumed, by just my bags and casual wear!😡Another instance, a week later, I had a shoulder book bag and dressed semi-casual (skinny jeans and a fitted tee with jewelry accessories). Lovely spot for coming together as a community. We've attended many events here and also just appreciated it as we visit adjacent businesses (like the theater and restaurants.) Most recently, we attended the "First Thursday Food-Truck" event, which was a lot of fun. The park has enough room for the dozen+ trucks and plenty of space for kids to play.
Pro-Tip: There IS parking around the park, but it's only one block away from the city's parking garage (free), which is especially nice for a shady place to park on...
Read moreGreat Park but lots of homeless people come here. There are activities here at the plaza that are really nice. The tree lighting festival is really cool. The Halloween event is cool as well. We are going to Earth day next weekend not sure how that is because we haven't been to that. But I'll the things that we've gone to your cool. there is a farmers market every Thursday in the morning. Just wish there wasn't as many homeless people here. Makes it kind of sketchy to walk around when there are a lot of homeless people...
