Xielo Artisan Desserts — Restaurant in Oxnard

I’ve been a regular customer for months now, and I can confidently say that Xielo Artisan Desserts is an excellent café! Not only is the menu varied with delicious options for all palates, but they use high quality ingredients, have wonderful presentation, and keep surprising you as you continue to visit! The owner, Juan, humbly shares that his family who put together their recipies are the artists, and essentially he’s just the business side making it available to people. Well their family has been in the food industry for many years tracing back to Mexico, and they have recipies that his grandmother made 60 years ago! My favorites are the Berry French Cream sweet crepe with extra BFC, the albondigas soup (best I’ve ever had), and my custom cajeta & lechera, light ice, extra coffee frappe! Five honorable mentions are the guayaba y queso empanadas, the cajeta con nuez sweet crepe with a scoop of ice cream on top, the monte alban sweet crepe, the requeson, and the cafe de olla (can you tell I have a sweet tooth? 🤣). The café has a relaxing atmosphere with the nice music and window-shop seating, and has been a nice place to do work, watch a movie on my iPad, or have interesting conversations with people in the shared seating area. Now, above all of this is their impressive customer service! Early on I was welcomed como familia (like family), and they have continued to make me feel like an appreciated customer in several ways. The owner Juan, his father (also Juan), his mother Aracely, his cousin Cynthia, and one of their main employees Iselda have all been great, whether on the phone or in person, remembering my usual order, asking how I’m doing, or handing me my order with a smile 😃👍. Don't know where to start this place is amazing. Was in the general neighborhood and had a craving for crepes and didn't want to go the usual route you know the sit down 24-hour restaurants that start with the I or a d that don't even have real crepes. They're just stuffed with sugar and frozen fruit. Well I looked and lo and behold right next to me was this gym of a place The crepes are made right in front of you they have a huge board where you can not only get crepes but you can get drinks and macarons and all sorts of pastries. A lot of the items they had were in Spanish and there were some items I did have to ask about for them to explain.

Don't fret though they are more than willing to help you in a quick manner, they have a fantastic, fantastic Nutella frap that's out of this world and their Nutella crepe that I had was fantastic came with a little bit of condensed milk on it strawberries banana Nutella and a crepe made fresh right in front of you it is pretty big so you could definitely share if you needed to between two people. Or if you're really just hungry it's that good and you could eat it yourself. They also have croissant sandwiches and crepes that are filled with meats, cheeses and vegetables. So you don't have to have a crepe that's just sweet you can do a lunch type crepe I'd say. We also trying their quiche which was very good bacon spinach and cheese it definitely hit the spot and it was a good slice definitely worth taking a trip down there if you're in the area. Drinks were delicious! Only downfall and why I probably won’t come back is because of service. I went on Sunday morning with my husband mind you we were going to stop at Starbucks for coffee but I told him no there’s this small business around the corner let’s try it out I have heard great things about it so he agree. We went in, my husband only drinks decaf and he asked the man that was ringing us up if he had any decaf coffee. He’s like no and kinda laughed at his question. My husband then proceeded to ask what do you have that does not have caffeine he said the mangoneada and obviously the water. I was stunned! So I brushed it off so we ordered and when my husband ordered he asked him 3 times if that the drink he wanted like if he wasn’t sure. I let it go again.
