Long story short, too pricey/pretentious for what it is, and I am not by ANY means a wine snob. Maybe I'm just cheap but if I buy 3 bottles I think $5 off is crap...but we bought 3 bottles because we did actually like 3 of the 6 we tasted and it gives us A Thing to center on with some titbits and nosh away recalling a nice trip.
I always freely admit my palate is not overly appreciative of wine, but that said, $32 for some of that (and $75 for the fancya$$ stuff, um, what) does not fly. I long for the days of 20 years ago when the valley made wine and made money and wasn't making wine to make money.
"pick your favorite and we give you a mini medallion thing"? Who came up with this? Why? What am I going to do with it? Maybe everyone is drunk and doesn't understand they are paying for this marketing...
