They do a great job on tints. However, they didn't know what to do when getting parking mode to work on my EV. I paid for an installation and a half (150 + 75) because I thought certain camera components or wires were the culprit. When parking mode still didn't work, they shrugged, inferred that it was my brand new car's fault, and wanted to wash their hands of the problem. Also got dirty looks from the owner for being in the back where my car was, to demonstrate the issue.
I did my own research and found that plugging via OBD2 port instead of hardwire would solve the issue, so I installed it myself and it did. I won't be going here for dash cameras in the future, why pay $225 to research and solve the issue myself.
EDIT RESPONSE: I'll start off by saying no this was not a camera specific problem. Your cameras are not more "premium" than either of the cameras I brought in. Perhaps your services might have been "premium" had I bought one of your cameras. Thinkware is a mainstream and well-known brand, much more so than the profit margin-makers you're selling in your shop. (That's why your selection is so small)
The first camera I brought in, also had the same issue. I think it's questionable that you'd blame the cameras when I bought a brand new camera to solve the problem -- which was demonstrated at your shop that both cameras had the same issue.
While I understand a shop like yours can't take on the responsibility of knowing every dashcam manufacturer, I don't know of other shops' standards of claiming a job is done when a crucial function doesn't work. For example, I know if I had a remote key installed at a nearby competing shop, they wouldn't leave me hanging with a trunk button that doesn't work. Parking mode is the reason I installed the camera. I mentioned that to you numerous times, to which you expectantly ignored.
Suggesting the OBD2 port doesn't pertain to anything manufacturer/camera specific either. It was an oversight on your part, especially at your presumed expertise level and when you're charging towards the upper end for dash cam installation. I've always paid it without question in the past, but I expect better than this when there's an issue.
I'll give credit where it's due - you guys have done a good job on tinting my cars in the past. But the service in this visit was mediocre, the installation didn't work and I fixed it, so the only premium thing here was the price.
LAST RESPONSE: There was no confusion. You described the situation, and I described it further. I don't need the money back, I would have paid another $75 if you figured out the OBD2 port and solved the problem for me. You can keep the money, you didn't have a problem taking it then, it's obvious why you're suddenly acting...
Read moreVERY UPSET! how the tint came out! They should have told my wife it will be two different darkness Front and Rear windows since you guys are experts arent you when guy showed her tint % with how dark it will be? I have been going here since 2002 with my M3, IS350, E350, Cayenne, X7, New Cayenne. I even referral so many of my friends and my clients, and they got it done here. Call for pricing it went up (totally understandable) but compare to other shop its still little pricy but since 2002 I've been going there, I would pay extra since I'm loyal customer. After today will never go back here. Tint ($400) was done not even 12hrs and called front and rear tint color is different, they told me it because rear window comes in little darker ( car Factory ) understandable and they offered to put extra layer of 15% in front to make even darkness sounded like they were going to do it out of courtesy but guess what they asked me to pay additional $200 (which is same price as you get your front window tint done) for it when tint was done less than 12hrs ago. I own business as well and I do not run my business like this. Out of courtesy I would offer film cost only or just do it for loyalty customer since it was done less than 12hrs.
Got it done from somewhere else for $150...
Read moreI found NJBoomBoom on Llumar’s website as they are one of the very few certified SelectPro Dealers recommended by Llumar. The shop consists of 3 employees focusing mainly on window tinting & PPF but the biggest plus is that the owner himself is the only one that does the PPF so you can be certain that the job is getting done the best it can be.
The showroom is clean & climate controlled. There are tint displays with heat lamps that physically shows you the performance difference of the 3 levels of tint that they offer. I chose to go with Llumar Stratos since it has the best heat rejection & blocks 99% of UV rays.
The shop is equipped with a plotter which pre-cuts the film. This avoids someone using a razor blade free hand & eliminates the risk of cutting into the paint of your car. They can also custom program the pre-cuts with added length so edges can be wrapped around for a seamless clean finish with maximum protection & no exposed edges for water, dirt or debris to get under.
Below are the services that I got & I am 100% extremely satisfied. Thank you NJ BoomBoom for the excellent work.
