Beyond disappointed.... We dined here last night (Friday) and everything was disappointing from start to finish. We first attempted to dine in their outdoor tent and there was no ventilation - it was an enclosed tent and although they had a couple of heaters in there, it was cold. So what’s the point of having that as a dining option if it’s basically a worse experience and not even “safer” since no open air?

We decided to dine inside and were placed at a corner table near the bussing station - by bussing station, I mean a couple of dirty dish tubs on the floor. There were so many nats and flies around - we then noticed that there was even more - possibly dead ones on the window/walls next to us (see picture). Overall cleanliness was far below what you would expect. We asked for glasses for our beer and opted not to use them because they were both dirty.

Service was awful. We had at least 4-5 different people serve us and no one took ownership of providing the things we asked for. We got BBQ and they delivered the charcoal first, then the meat... and we basically sat there staring at charcoal and meat for 5-10 minutes before they brought out the grill pan. When we asked for it, the server just put up her finger (the “hold on” sign). All the employees seemed busy but there were so many of them... we asked for tongs because we noticed they were busy so we could grill our own meat, but they said no.. and our meat kept getting burnt and we had to use our chopsticks to prevent it as much as possible.

Food was horrible. We got the pork bbq combo and nengmyun (nasty broth - I tried to hide the taste with vinegar and ate it anyway cause I was hungry) with intentions to get more meat, but opted out. I will say the quantity is decent and the pickled cucumber banchan was probably the best part about the entire meal.

I would tolerate bad service (because it happens once in a while) and I would sometimes tolerate bad food - but a dirty restaurant is...

I went to this place to get Korean Bbq as 357 Pocha was closed for renovation. Let’s start with arrival. Valet only. Extremely cramped parking in and out and didn’t feel comfortable parking my car let alone have some random valet park my car.

Walked in, waited 10min to get seated, expected and not bad. After being seated, waiter took forever to come by.

Menu: Combo, can not do mix of pork and beef. Either beef or pork combo, no mix and match, only what was listed. Not a good place for small party

Food: Picked the beef combo 1, $79.99. Wow...the quantity was not enough for myself and 6 year old daughter, definitely not worth $79.99. Flavor of the galbi was very light as if it was not marinated long enough or ingredients in the marinade was missing. I wish I could’ve skipped the marinated and went with plane short rib.

Pros of the experience was the wood charcoal. Flavor of the wood charcoal/smoke evident but hard to control the temp of the heat. Waiter was running around, burned the first thinly sliced beef to a burnt crisp and replaced with another set of it.

Overall, compared to my go to, 357 Pocha, this place lacked in service, food quantity and most importantly, quality and taste. I think it’s fair to give it 2 stars. The more I thought about the disappointment, I had to write this review. There’s so many Korean Bbq restaurants popping up in the Palisades park and Fort lee area and they’re not cheap. Definitely need to choose and spend wisely, this...

🎉 Family Feasting Done Right at Hanam Palisades! 🍖💫

If you’re looking for a place that delivers killer Korean BBQ vibes with top-tier service, Hanam in Palisades is the move. We came as a big barkada—a party of 12, celebrating not just one, but TWO milestones: my cousin’s graduation and another cousin’s birthday (yes, double the drama, double the deliciousness). 🎓🎂

Let me just say—Ms. Oh is ON POINT. She’s a whole experience in herself—super friendly, crazy attentive (especially with the kids!), and made us feel like absolute VIPs. She even surprised us with complimentary soju to toast our special day. Ma’am, if you’re reading this, you deserve a raise & a tiara. 👑

Now let’s talk FOOD. Meat? Chef’s kiss. Juicy, tender, packed with flavor, and grilled to perfection. Banchan (appetizers)? Overflowing. They’re generous with those veggies and sides—like a Korean grandma just kept feeding us. Without asking, she gave us more lettuce 🥬 and we can’t say no! Atmosphere? Cozy and chill, but still poppin’ enough to feel like a party. We were so full and she gave us to go boxes. Anticipation? ON POINT!

By the end of the night, we were full, happy, slightly tipsy from the sojus, and already planning our next visit. 🤭

TLDR: ✨ Bring your appetite 😋 ✨ Bring your family ❤️ ✨ Ask for Ms. Oh 🔥 ✨ Thank me later 😉

Hanam Palisades isn’t just a meal—it’s a celebration! The place to feast! 🫰🏼 Highly recommended. 10/10. Would grill again! 🔥
