Family Dollar — Attraction in Palmerton

Usually customer service is pleasant and help full, well not this time, first of all the cashier was rolling her eyes at everyone and she had a very poor attitude, I asked for a pack of cigarettes naturally she I'd me, I showed her through the clear part of my wallet because most cashiers there tell me not to worry about taking it out since u can see all of the info through the clear plastic, she then rolled her eyes, looked at me like I was inconveniencing her and said, I will not take it like that, you need to take it out of the wallet and hand it to me, so I did, she looked at it rolled her eyes and said I won't sell you cigarettes, this is not you, it was 100% me the only difference in license picture to now is my hair color, first of all I am 36 years old, I certainly don't need to carry around a fake id.. I didn't argue with her because I was in shock by the way she treated me, my friend was behind me and offered to get them for me and the cashier responded by saying I refuse to allow u to buy any cigarettes because you're probably going to give them to her, she had a red face and appeared to be very angry, she raised her voice and rolled her eyes and proceeded to say neither of us were allowed to buy any. Im 36, my friend is 55. I never ever once before had a problem like this, I even showed her my credit card because my name matched my license. I was never so embarrassed in my entire life, even after all that I politely wished her a merry Christmas and she scoffed at me. People like that do not belong in customer service, I'm so upset that I might never shop there again, and I was an everyday regular customer. I do not wish to be treated like that again, she was very very miserable and unfriendly. Even after I told her to have a merry Christmas. She shouldn't be working their, I imagine she treats others with the same rude disrespect. Honestly I wouldn't mind if it was like a once in a while thing, I totally understand that people have bad days, but every time I shop there she has a horrible attitude she doesn't greet anyone and she rolls her eyes at every customer, I try to cheer her up and it's like she doesn't want any form of conversation, no smile no acknowledgment that im even talking to her, it makes me feel like I inconvenience her by shopping there and it's getting to the point where I will start shopping somewhere else. If there is a manager I can speak to or someone higher up I would appreciate it, they need to be informed about their employees poor performance, I've never been so embarrassed in my life, she should be fired since she has a constant...

They recently completed a refurbishment of the store. The new look is good however I think they might as well drop the pretence. That Dollar tree owns them and they should just change the names dollar tree stores to all family dollar or vice versa.

Because the layout of the store now will feel very familiar. To anyone who has been in a dollar tree store. Where before the was enough of a difference where now. There is virtually none that is silly to keep calling it Family dollar. When it is another store pretending to be something else.

The issue, is they copied the same annoyance that Dollar tree has. Where above the isle it tells you what is located there, but only what is near to you. It does not list everything like Giant an Walmart stores do.

For example, I went in to get things for the car, oil etc. I went down the middle seeing and isle saying air freshener nothing else. Then walked around so the back saw the car stuff. Same isle as the air freshener but the sign above only mentions Auto supplies.

This is how I know they copied Dollar tree because they copied the problems with it instead of fixing the bugs.

Standing from the front of the store there is no way to know what is on the back rows without going to look. So you honestly end up wandering around in a maze looking. Instead of just getting in and out.

This, is why I say they should just drop the pretence if they are going to copy dollar tree. Might as well just...

I was faulsly accused of theft today. Not sure why. I am upset and devastated and will be seeking legal counsel. Cops found no merchandise on me and yet they proceeded to issue a letter banning me from premises. Employes accused me of accusing multiple times which makes zero sense since cops have never been called. Every time the door beeps I stop and comply. Today the door didn't even beep and yet I am accused of stealing diapers. Shoppers beware please. I am good citizen. No drugs. No record. So if this can happen to me for no reason then I suggest you watch your back also. I am contacting headquarters about this. The store is always messy and employees always complaining so they did me a favor because it is not a pleasant shopping experience. The security system of theirs does not work. This is not ok...
