Look, I'm gonna be honest, this is not the scariest haunt, but it is EXTREMELY entertaining! (But, to be fair, I work at a haunted house so I don't get scared easily.) It is DEFINITELY worth the money. We did the regular experience, for $25, and it took us 37 MINUTES to finish... that is an OUTSTANDING value. (We drove 2+ hours, so length of walk-thru is very important, to us.) We never saw another patron the whole time, so it felt like we were alone, which added to the creepy atmosphere. There is just SO MUCH to try to remember when writing a review later, so it's impossible to remember every detail and dialogue from all the great actors and scenes, but the ones that really stuck with me are... The girl with the "demon" synthesizer voice was BADASS! The girl with the UV glowing face in the wheelchair was HILARIOUS! The guy who made us play "carnival games" (pool-noodle fight) was EXTREMELY FUN! The dude with the chainsaw. Honestly, chainsaw guys usually make me yawn, as I think they're overdone, but this guy was actually a little ROUGH with me... AND THAT'S OK. It added the bit of "fear" that I've been wanting. The "claw machine game" clown. OH MY GOD. I usually HATE clowns because I think they're also cliché and overdone, but this guy took all those notions and blew them away. He was simply FANTASTIC. The screaming "hillbilly" girl with the baby was GREAT. The staff in general was just very nice and friendly. From the ticket booth lady who helped us find a place to get hot cocoa (we walked down to Dunkin Donuts), to the door person, to the photographer at the end. Also, at one point my daughter lost her air-pods (in a BLACK case so I thought they'd never be found), and they were found and returned in probably no more than 2 minutes thanks to the efforts of the actors. Overall, it was a great experience and a memorable road trip! Since we work at a haunted house, Sunday is our only day to explore other haunts, so we appreciate that you're open then. We will definitely be back,...
Read moreHalls of horror does some things right but conclusively, the experience just wasn’t for me. I’m a fan of touch-based/actor driven haunts so it was a no brainer to come here.
The content is the main issue, this place has a specific art direction that just turns out to be… unappealing for me.
The actors say/do stuff that’s meant for shock factor/disgust factor more than actually scaring you.The art direction here felt sexual/threatening? (referring to mostly dialogue)
The actors are an inch away from your face, one of them rubbed my beard with his hands for around 15+ seconds, another looked at a bed with a corpse prop and says he wants to be breed with me while his hands are on me.
Another room had clown girls who were solely focused on talking about inserting things and kept insisting to clench buttocks? Lol?
This sounds like I’m making it up but I’m not. Genitals/sexual organs/inserting objects etc were brought up in many scenes. Some rooms are solely focused on inserting some prop in your mouth.
I can honestly go on and on but this wasn’t my idea of a scary walkthrough. There’s a way to do touch experiences that scare but without the disgust factor.
As for positives, every actor performs a scene and interacts, the set pieces are detailed, they space out groups VERY well, they take complimentary photos, staff is really nice, some scenes are done well like the darkness sequences, the nun scene, magician scene, carnival scene. Sound is on point with the metal/rock theme, lots of decor/photo opps outside the haunt.
The total walkthrough was around 20+ minutes.
Overall, this haunt may be for you if you’re okay with that kind of art direction and I respect that they’re heavily actor/performance-based, even if it...
Read moreI wish I could give this place 6 stars...or 10. This was our second time going, but our first time for the blood experience. Opting for the blood was worth the extra $, you get a T-shirt, but the regular experience is really just as scary, fun, intense, surprising, frightening, spooky, nerve-racking, whatever enjoyment you're looking for, you'll get. I'm really trying to not give anything away here. Every actor puts so much energy into giving each group an amazing and unique experience that they have to be exhausted at the end of the night. You can tell the actors enjoy what they're doing, and that they get a special sort of satisfaction in scaring the daylights out of you. The fact they can touch you (not inappropriately) and get up in your face, the interaction is just so much fun. HoH takes special care to space the groups out so you're not overlapping the group in front of you, which spoils the surprise. The whole reason you're there is to get your spooky scare on and you're paying to be scared, with no preview of what's about to happen. To HoH, thank you for doing this. They will advise you if things get too intense you can tell the actor "I want to get out" they'll immediately escort you to one of the many hidden exits. So again, 10 stars and thank you HoH for successfully scaring the daylights out...
