Dont get me wrong the place is nice but the environment is too variable to be a place to go and unwind and have fun on multiple occasions i have been put in uncomfortable situations with other customers being very aggressive toward myself and others sometimes I'd try to shake it off one time was so bad I literally stormed out in tears. But this last wednesday took the cake I was being rung out cursed and gestured out by another person i had tried to ask them calmly to please stop and just let it go i told them they were making me uncomfortable. After they continued to rage at me over a card game I went up to one of the workers Kyle and told him what was happening and that i was very uncomfortable and riled up by the aggression it seemed he wasn't really interested in doing anything about it but i still asked since me and my stuff was stuck in a corner. Kyle went over and asked if everyone was doing good and they all said yes so he told me there was nothing he could do. I told him i was leaving and threw a $5 on the counter to pay off my $3 tab and left. I do suffer from autism which all employees of nerd place had been told before and had a very good connection i thought with the owners of nerd place i respected them very much and loved what they were doing but failure to create a safe space being bullied and going home in tears how could i keep going to a place when this is the result its very sad of me to write this review my respect for nerd place and Drew and the space itself is what's stopping me from a 1-star
I hope that nerd place can learn from this review and take it as constructive criticism to create a better more friendly environment for kids, adults, and people of all...
Read moreThe Nerd Place is a nerd's paradise! A very nice inventory of Funko Pop! Figurines, TCG supplies and accessories, toys, and the like.
What, in my opinion makes The Nerd Place special however are the 2 gaming areas. The most apparent is a 4 station console gaming area in the main shop area that features comfy lounge style seating and 4 large flat panels for game play. The other is the backroom, which has 4 console stations aligned together desktop style plus an array of 15 independent, and colorful PC gaming stations each with headsets with mics and a large comfortable gaming style chair. The ambiance is conducive to game play - low and colorful blue and teal lights overhead.
As of this review, gameplay is purchased by the hour (which also rolls over for the next visit if you do not use it in its entirety). Though I'm not a gamer my children love all manner of video games and I, as a parent, believe time is bought at a reasonable value. Additionally, discounts are given when you buy in larger volumes.
There is also a private party or meeting room that would host around 20-25 people.
Additionally, the staff were friendly and were helpful when I inquired about future gaming tournaments to be held there.
Hopefully, a business like The Nerd Place will prove to be an asset to our community as it brings the residents of Palmyra and the surrounding areas together to entertain and be entertained in a common interest in the...
Read moreI can’t speak highly enough of this place.
Staff are very kind and knowledgeable. Good place for kids and families to nerd out together on video games, trading cards and such.
My daughter had a tough day a few weeks back, and the guys working went way above and beyond by doing something very generous and kind to cheer her up. After that day we have become regulars of the shop and feel good about giving them our business.
They have a nice selection of Pokemon singles, MTG, funko, and all sorts of other fun collectibles.
Would recommend dropping by and...
