The camp host came out to greet me right away. I didn't like that the only place to park to register requires me to block the roadway for others. Someone had to wait for me to finish registering before they could get in to their already occupied site.
The campground is clean and the sites are level concrete slabs. Electric only, but water is available for fill up. There is a dump station on the property as well. The bathrooms do not have running water, so, of course, there are no showers.
The campground is close to town, but not right off a highway or interstate, so it is quiet. You can hear some road noise way off in the distance, but nothing close to making you feel like you're in the middle of a city. I am extremely sensitive to noise, and I give this a quiet rating.
I feel safe at this campground and didn't have any issues with the other campers here. Everyone respected the quiet hours and took good care of...
Read moreNo reservations. $16 per night. First come, first serve. Electric only sites (30/50amp). Whiteboard near the entrance indicated which spots were open. We drove around and selected a spot then put payment in the envelope. Cash only so bring exact change!
If you want to stay more time, you simply have to pay for the additional night(s) the same way before Noon the next day. Checkout is 2pm.
Sites are plenty large for any size rig. Cement pads made a little wider with gravel for additional vehicle parking. Nice picnic table.
A water spigot was located just across the street from our site but our hose was a few feet short so we had to park in the road to fill up water (which doesn't allow anybody to pass).
Dump station is convenient near the exit but it's not quite level so we weren't able to completely empty.
Location is quiet and a pretty central spot for visiting Omaha or a bit further drive...
Read moreWe love camping at Walnut Creek when we are close to Omaha. Price is Right, $16 a night. We get electric at the site. There are two water faucets to fill with water. There is a dump station as we leave. A big downside is no trash disposal for us. If we stay more than a day or two trash accumulates and is a pain. The other difficulty is there are no reservations and in the summer it gets full very quickly and stays that way. That is because you can stay up to 28 days and then out for 7 then you can come back. They have a regularly rotating set of can't post who have all been good that we have encountered. Small playground. Pit toilets. Check out our YouTube 4 videos as we explore and play around the campground area. #lzdrv #littlezebradragons There is a very large off leash dog park not...
