Very fun place if you like model trains, pretty fun place if you don't. It is small so if you don't like model trains you will be done with it in about 10 mins after you press all the buttons to make the trains move (8 yr old son). If you are detailed oriented and are into trains like 12 yr old son then boy you going to spend hours watching and pickup things like how he believes they have a British signal (since it is on the left side of the tunnel) on an American track. Kids entertained themselves for over an hour (pretty rare, especially for a museum...) with all the interactive exhibits & amazing attention to detail. Train enthusiasts will think they've died and gone to heaven!! Even non-enthusiasts are sure to find something of interest among the huge collection of train paraphernalia (some dating back to the 1800s) and other antique items on display. Pictured is my dad who is a HUGE train lover, he has his own train layouts in his home and we started posting videos of his layout on youtube - @poppopstrainroom. give him a view/like it will literally make his day.
we went in to the train museum with my nephews, they had so much fun pushing the buttons and making trains and figures move. I definitely would recommend going with your kids, and the admission is very cheap.
