I was a bit nervous doing this hike alone. At first I am a very inexperienced hiker I went around 3:15/3:30 and was nervous the sun would set before I could finish. There wasn’t much people on the trail because it rained and I was also nervous that the water level would rise and prevent me from making it to the trails safely however, this hike was beautiful! I watched a YouTube video to ensure I was going the right way towards the falls and the people that I passed on the trail were friendly and helped with directions when needed. My feet did get wet I was in running sneakers though so I did not mind. I did this hike without any walking stacks with my phone in water bottle in hand it was pretty simple. It took me about an hour and a half including a 5 to 10 minutes sit down at the waterfall I jogged on some of the straightaways but it definitely could be done quicker if needed. I love how this is an easy drive from downtown LA yet you feel like you are hundreds of miles away. I even saw a man riding a horse on a trail so that was pretty cool. Can’t wait to continue exploring LA’s waterfall hikes however, this one certainly tops the list

Loved this small hike. Very family friendly which is awesome. For a Sunday, there was a good crowd which I dont mind at all (I'd rather there be a decent flow of people throughout than just a few here and there. It's a long stretch of terrain and there are some hidden corners just saying. Being a single girl you can never be too careful). If you dont like navigating across a flowing river on slippery rocks and fallen branches and logs to get from one side of the path to the other then this is not the hike for you. It's quite fun but you better have some balance or you may get a sprained or twisted ankle. Its 3.5 mile roundtrip (not exactly Mary Jane falls at Mt Charleston or even Runyon Canyon) but it will give you a good warm up to a nice walk. I'd definitely come here again...it was Fun! Oh and watch out for the poison ivy..its everywhere!

Perfect trail for casual hiking. At first it’s a walk under the beaming sun. But then as you walk towards the river/water fall, you go in between a valley and it’s beautiful and breezy in the shade of the trees along the river water. There is a bit of rock hopping to cross the river, but it’s really manageable. I saw all ages rock hopping. You can bring your dog. (Please pick up after them) I have seen families come in all ages, from babies to grannies. Family friendly trail. Parking: there is parking but when I went the gates were closed, so I just parked on the street and walked in. So don’t get discouraged if you see closed gates. (These pictures were taken on 1/6/2025, the day before the Eaton Canyon fire 🔥. I wanted to share the beautiful photos 🥺 I hope it can be restored once again.)
