Golden Moon Hotel & Casino — Attraction in Pearl River

My sister and I went out with a friend who hasn't been out in years because of a car accident that almost took his life. He had brain surgery thats "lets just say ecentric or a little loud. Out going for the most part but happy to be alive. He's a great friend and one of the most generous guys that you could ever meet being as he got a nice retirement from the ordeal. We decided we would drive all the way from Madison to stay the night at the hotel and play some games and try our luck. Well we DID not even get to sit and eat because he tried to order a beer and they refused to serve him alcohol wouldn't tell him why. None of us had anything to drink or eat for that matter. So he upset because of the insulting accusations started to walk towards the door where he parked after driving my sister and I all the way there Not Drinking embarrassed and insulting they started to follow us and talk on radios right behind us ,around the whole casino people where staring and talking while, we being led out by whatanyemed to be every security officer in silver star hotel and casino. one female officer even approached him with the accusations of alcohol consumption "over the limit"or to much to drink they or any establishment has the right to refuse u alcohol. Safety first ,ofcourse , with today's society please DONT GIVE ANY ALCOHOLIC BEVERAGE TO AN INTOXICATED PATRON THAT HAS HAD TO MUCH! Safety first always. Well he being the gentle giant he is after his near death experience. Can be a little intimidating because of his size 6'4 230 now before over 400 lbs but due to brain and other excruciating surgeries over a few years to keep alive thank God he was able to walk again. Endured the embarrassment of refusal of alcohol because of his excitement of being out of the house,and a chance to stay the night out spend a little of his settlement and have n little fun with my sister and I. But instead endure embarrassment and a "walk of shame"and one point, direct ridicule for being drunk by a lady officer being "to scared straight off of Maury" way to serious drill sergeant. No need to make him do push ups. So we barely make n it out. Without jail time and more embarrassment plus a couple more dollars in my pocket! Instead less "I might add. I'm not a very good gambler" so we trying to still save a little face and show our friend that its ok to get out of the house. No one will make fun of u for being a little! Little loud , Little obnoxious and embarrassing at times. But we don't care because ,we care ,we don't judge we don't profile,we don't just condemnand convict in America because it a free country. We have due process,we have rules,regulations to protect our rights as Americans to be free to have a good time. To drink a beer with friends no matter what the reason or rhyme and we actually don't tar and feather criminals and embarrass them without first questioning and determining weather or not the punishment fits the crime. Due process because we the people have a right to blow our hard earned money on gambling and 3 beer and 5 games of pool at a little bitty pool hall in Philadelphia,ms called All star pub. While my friend not wanting to be around people. Slept in his car because hey its a free country we have that right to choose. We have freedom and choices to not treat another human being like a drunken idiot that needs no more alcohol because of the safety of we the people. Bullfrog we love you glad you didn't hurt any one. Maybe we can disguise ourselves as normal everyday people and gamble some of that money with the hopes of being better than...

I have spent two nights at the Golden Moon Hotel, once during July 2013 and once in December 2016. I'm guessing that they remodeled the Golden Moons hotel rooms over the last three years, but I like the rooms better during my stay in 2013 than I did this time around. Granted I may have received an unknown upgrade in 2013 vs 2016 and that maybe the difference in my room as the bathroom/ restroom in the 2016 room was very different from my last stay in 2013. Overall the bed and room was comfortable. The hotel at the Golden Moon would be a 4 Star ⭐️ ⭐️⭐️⭐️ in my opinion. The valet parking was very good and friendly, from my arrival to my departure. My gaming experience: The casino part I would have to rate as a 2 ⭐️⭐️ out of 5 . I know they remodeled both the star and moon last year, but they have way entirely to many digital games and not enough traditional slot machines like they once had. Some people may love playing willie wonka's 3D slots but not me. Then they went nuts bringing in multiple Wheel Of Fourturne games and did away with the traditional ones that everyone enjoyed playing and watching the spins. Now you'll find a digital one that's probably controlled by an upstairs computer 💻.... They completely changed the gaming floor at the Star which I didn't think was necessary and nothing is organized you'll have 1 cent machines next to 1$ machines and 25 cent machines next to 5$ machines I wasn't impressed at all about the casino gaming experience. Now rating my bar experience. The bartender at the Golden Moon did an excellent job and the drinks were okay but way overpriced for what you receive. If you get a shot of patron this will cost you $12 per shot and a Bloody Mary in a short glass will cost you $7.50. Excuse me ☝️but that's way to high for this area we are not on the beach in Florida or in a big city . I'm sure someone will reply that I could play and get free 🍹, well it's not like that anymore. Playing slots will cost you a whole lot more for that drink and good luck getting a spot at the bar to play for a 🍹. Not to mention the buffet is like $30.00 per person and $16.00 for kids. Kids should eat free I remember going while I was in college to the seafood buffet and it was $15 to $20 to now $30 plus per person. They have gone over the years since establishment in 1996 to 2016 from a great place to good, from good to worse in my opinion. POOL AND POOL BAR STAFF VERY UNPROFESSIONAL! DON'T TAKE YOUR SPECIAL NEEDS KIDS HERE!!!!! THEY CLEARLY DON'T UNDERSTAND OR CATER TO SPECIAL NEEDS CHILDREN!!! I was staying at Silverstar which allows me to access Golden Moon as well. Day 1 We went swimming at Silverstar and had no issues. Day 2 we went to Golden Moon. My daughter is 2.5 years old with Autism(she doesn't understand most directions when told) and I'm 30+ years old. Just so you understand my situation. The outdoor pool was better for her bc their was a place for her to play in water that was 1 foot deep. She got out and was walking the perimeter of the pool. Instead of going left like she had been doing, she turned right into the indoor pool side. Idk this walkway was even there! I started yelling no, turn around, and don't go in there as she fell into the pool! Thank god she was wearing a life jacket I bought her!! They don't provide anything like that!!! I ran to her and jumped in and got her. Never once did they ask if she was okay!! There were 4+ staff members on that side that were closer to her. Pissed me off! But still not my point... I had one Pina colada previous to all this. Of course after making sure my child was ok and she was eager to play in the water again. I decided ok, but did want another drink after that traumatic event. So I called my husband and told him to come to the pool and I explained what happened to him. The bar staff made me wait 30+ minutes then sent a server over to us and in front of other guests told me bc of what happened earlier they can't serve us! US?!? He wasn't even there?! WRONG MOVE! I don't care about the drink! But don't try to act like I'm a bad mother and you need to cut me off like some raging alcoholic! Like y'all care about my child more than I do! If I was drunk then why did I make it to her before every single one of your staff members? Why was I screaming no and turn around? Your company didn't have to embarrass me like that!
