Paging Marty McFly! When’s the last time this filthy place has been thoroughly cleaned? When’s the last time you had a meeting about the need for Fall Risk bands and actually using them? I got mine about 3 HOURS before I was released. I found it in the bottom of a pink bucket. Do you normally allow people capable of a shower to go 3 days without one? How about the bed sheets that never got changed? Let’s not forget I had to ask numerous times for socks so as not to step on human waste from the filthy floors. I had a walker in my room. Only PT and OT used it. The food got expensive as we were FORCED to buy our own as you choose to serve disgusting sup par orts. Never have I ever had such offensive and disgusting hospital food in my life. There’s all this and so much more. I fully believe in my heart and after speaking with a Dr NOT affiliated with Pekin Hospital that Ive had a bad adverse reaction to round the clock steroids I received the first day. It was a Monday into Tuesday 24 hour IV injection. I received it 3 times in 24 hours. 3 vials each time. Classic approach I was told. I was released on Wednesday early afternoon. Something was VERY obviously wrong. I started crying at 5 am that morning and really never completely stopped except for very short periods of time. I was confused and demanding. I was so sad I was despondent. I wasn’t the same person they admitted and it was OBVIOUS had ANYONE taken the time to really look. I was asking questions numerous times, forgetting things, crying so hard throwing people out of my room and I got an Ativan. Even cafeteria personnel asked if I was ok for Gods sake. But, no one else. Research a tiny bit and it’s classic steroid issues. I’m no medical anything but I’m still not completely back to normal. The irrationality and the crying has diminished. I’m still not sleeping right as I’ve been up since midnight having gone to bed at 8. It says it can take a while for these effects to leave. I just hope it’s soon. I needed help for a drop foot and got far more than I bargained for. Yes, If I have my way, I’ll never allow myself to be admitted to Pekin Hospital again! They are completely aware of how I was acting. Night and day different. Black and white. What happened? How was the ball dropped so many times? The reaction I received was Not, could something be wrong?

Carle can call me. I’m not wasting my exhausted time chasing anyone down. I was the patient. ME! Something’s not right with management if these things are happening and it’s known about

! What about those who can’t speak for themselves. What happens to them? I’m 63. Someday sooner rather than later that could and most likely will be me. Thank God for my husband! How tremendously sad this story really has been for me. Nope! Never again. I’m left wide awake still and...

The nurse and Dr on duty Saturday April 12th 2025 in the morning between 9-10am are a joke. They don't listen to their patients they just read a computer screen and don't know a damn thing. The Dr blatantly stated he sees no swelling or infection but still directs an inflammatory shot for no reason and a sleeping aid. I can fall asleep just fine it's the constant throbbing and pain that keeps me up or wakes me up and they can't comprehend words or something but they just ignore that factor and don't listen to their patients and then let them suffer because their ego gets in the way of helping someone. I've gone years without going to the Drs and this is exactly why. They're useless and only read computer screen and think they know they're patients body better than they do. That Dr on duty today needs to be fired, he's arrogant and walked out before he even did a proper evaluation and didn't even introduce himself neither did the nurse and no names on my discharge paperwork, so professional... What good is a DR if they can't help the patients and they just think a computer is going to tell them what they need vs listening to the problem and addressing it at the point. You can take a horse to water but you can't make it drink... They seriously need a new career before they get someone killed or cause more issues than necessary. That is the absolute worst experience I've had in my life and I haven't slept for 3 days because of the pain and they did absolutely nothing to treat it. I've been to the Drs 3 times in the last 3 days and this was the absolute worst Dr and nurse I've dealt with yet. That Dr needs to be more professional and quit over talking people and actually address the situation vs walking out of the room like a coward...

I was born with a chronic illness that leaves me vomiting and in horrible pain for sometimes days or a week on end. I went to Pekin Hospital and sat for 7 hours with my mother, father, and wife, while in pain with no meds while they called a nurse into work. "There's not a nurse here today." they said. It was a Sunday at about noon when I arrived. A hospital ER without a nurse?? 7 hours in pain. When the nurse finally showed up she was cold shouldering us and throwing things down like a 2 year old because she was upset she got called into work. When we decided to leave to get actual medical help at another hospital, she called the police to "Escort" us out. The police even said to us that this was "completely unnecessary" and apologized for the experience. I ended up in OSF for 4 days and they said I was lucky I get there when i did. I was passing out from dehydration because Pekin had done nothing. No fluids, no naseua meds, no pain meds. Usually it's a quick in and out but 4 days because of being put in a room with no help for 7 hours. I've went to hospitals my whole life because of my chronic illness. Never have I went somewhere EVEN CLOSE TO BEING so unprofessional. This place is the gutter garbage of hospitals. The staff is rude, lazy, and incompetent. My family and I have never witnessed such incompetence out of a hospital. The staff felt like they found them at local fast food restaurants and offered them $1 more an hour to pretend to be nurses. Complete insensitive horrible excuses for health care workers. Avoid at all costs if your health and quality care is important to you. I ended up with 2 different bills from them I'm fighting now AND the bill from OSF to go get help after these clowns wasted 7 hours of our...
