I picked my tires on their website July 15th and scheduled install on July 19th at 9am. I ordered the 3rd set of tires down the list that were recommended for my vehicle (2017 Ford Transit 250), Michelin Defender T+H. I work 6-7 days a week as a contractor so Sunday was really my only option to get tires on my work vehicle. I arrived early for my appointment, confirmed my appointment, and confirmed the tires with the employee behind the sales counter. I confirmed that the tires I ordered will be the best fit for my vehicle with the employee and he said they will be great for it. So my wife picked me up and we went about our day. I received a phone call at 11:18 informing me the tires are installed on my vehicle but they’re not going to work then proceeded to tell me they can order the correct tires for it but they won’t be here till Tuesday July 21st. I explained I can’t just leave my vehicle up there not working for 2 days, and asked if they can just put my old tires back on the van. The employee responded with yes but we will have to charge you for mount and balance, my only request was to install the tires with the best tread on the rear which he agreed to. I received a second call at 4:10 stating my vehicle was ready but that they close at 5 and needed to be there before 5 to pick it up. I arrived paid the clerk $75.96, received my keys, walked out to my truck to find my tires low, tire light on and the rear tires (almost bald) on the passenger side and the front tires (still had a good amount of tread on them) on the drivers side which was not what I asked. I asked if they could add some air to my tires and get my tire light to turn off. They did add air to my tires but when I asked about the tire light the manager had to stop putting Alabama stickers on his truck brought a computer tpms sensor out and showed me very quickly the tire pressure was fine and told me this would be expected with used tires... My tire light never went off like he said it would. Today is July 29th and I have yet to receive a phone call stating my tires have arrived or a update. I emailed Mavis corporate on July 23rd and have not received a response or anything. Never once did anyone apologize for the inconvenience that this mishap caused me that was clearly Mavis Tires fault and caused me to pay for their mistake. I at no point complained or expressed any frustration to the employees there because I wanted to give them the benefit of the doubt. I don’t ever leave bad reviews for businesses because I know what that can do to a business, but I did want to take a minute and send you a email about my experience. I ended up purchasing a set of tires from Discount Tires on Hwy 280 and it was a great experience. I called them in the morning they called me as soon as the tires arrived, and installed them the same day in less then 1 hour after leaving my vehicle with them. Upon arrival there was no tire light on and the tires had the proper amount of air in them. I hope this email helps in one way or form, I’m not complaining but just find it hard to understand why Mavis Discount tire would charge a customer any amount of money for a issue/mistake...
Read moreTake my vehicle in for tires, brake pads, and oil change. After an hour of sitting in wait room.... The guy at register leads me back to my car and shows me my front rotor, that appears in good shape and tells me it has heat cracks, I give him a funny look and he gets all defensive and says, "see this stuff doesn't wipe off" then proceeds to wipe off the residue with his finger! I tell him I'm not comfortable with his assessment and he gets angry and keeps showing me how my front pads are worn, cursing several times. I know I need front pads, that's why I ordered the service. A front pad needing replacement is not indicator of rotors needing replacement but this "expert" doesn't care. Just had brakes pads replaced at my usual shop and the tech said rotors are perfectly fine confirming my suspicion that Mavis is dishonestly pushing for upsells. They also over inflated my rear tires significantly, which seems to be common practice at this shop. I did let them finish the oil change, regret that even, as it was the most expensive oil change I've ever had by ~$40. I would avoid this shop like the plague. There was one other person in the lobby when I got there and he was pressuring him for a 5 star review, guy said, I'll do it in a bit and he's like "I need you to do it now, you will forget later". No accountability and most unprofessional business I have been to in some time. It's a real shame too because they have some mechanics that truly care and this guy working the front is giving them a bad name and making them look like crooks by association. Trust your instincts, you have...
Read moreI bought tires from here about 2 years ago with the road hazard on them, so I'll come here to fix any punctures. In good faith, I told them I'd pay for an oil change for fixing the tires even though I technically already paid for them to cover the tires with the road hazard. The oil change, I usually do myself. They took care of the nails and did the oil change, which was $125 before any discount.. then, the guy told me I needed new brakes, so I got that taken care of.. Realistically, I should've kept going on the brakes until they were grinding because they swapped out both the rotors and pads.. all in all, after a small discount on the oil change and the brake replacement, I walked out just under $600.. later, I looked at the receipt and realized they put 0W-20 instead of the 0W-16 that my car specifically calls for. Called Mavis and the guy answered, put me on hold while I was talking and then proceeded to be pretty rude about how I was asking about the type of oil used in my engine. Ultimately, I could've saved about $80 by doing the oil change at home and could've saved another $500 for now until the car told me I needed new brakes.
The guys in the shop on the day of the service were pretty cool, but the guy on the phone seemed like he was having a bad day and didn't feel like dealing with other problems like the...
