My husband and I have eaten at this Popeye's 4 times, each was more disappointing than the last and now it's over. The last visit was New Year's Eve. We had to wait at the counter for 10 minutes while employees had a very loud argument on the floor over who was going to work that night. No-one apologized for our wait and no-one smiled or greeted us with a "Welcome to Popeye's!". We ordered the $20.00 box that was supposed to include 4 pieces of bone in chicken, 4 "tenders", 4 sides and 4 biscuits. The bone in chicken was supposed to include 1 breast, 1 thigh, 1 leg and 1 wing. Instead, we got 2 thighs, 1 leg and wing. The bone in chicken was also red inside. The pieces were so tiny I felt sorry for the chicken. The tenders included 1 strip that was half the size of a tender from Chickfila, 2 nuggets and 1 piece of something fried that was a quarter of an inch wide and 2" long. Could have been a rat's tail for all I know, especially with a rating of 88. We didn't eat it. The breading coverage was at best 10%. If you want sauces, they only come with tenders. You have to ask for them and you only get 2. If you want sauces with your bone in chicken, they are .90 cents each. The sides we ordered included 3 orders of red beans and rice and 1 fry. The red beans and rice did not even come in contact with the top of the container. They were literally 3 spoonfuls each. My husband barely ate the fries. I did not ask him about them. The biscuits were the size of quarters. I didn't know they made cutters so tiny. The worst part of all was the attitude in this restaurant. They are not happy at all for your business, if anything, just the opposite. They don't want your business and are willing to do anything to get rid of you. Well done staff, well done. I wish I had taken pictures. I know Al Copeland is rolling in his grave. I used to live a few blocks from his home in Metairie, La. His yard would be decorated to the nines every Christmas until he rented a barge and displayed them on the Mississippi River because of neighbor complaints. I have the whole set of Popeye's characters from a happier time when the business was young and growing. Those days are gone and lets face it, I can get an 8 piece fried chicken from Publix that hasn't been picked over especially for me, frozen biscuits from Pillsbury, frozen or canned sides and packaged red beans and rice ready in 20 minutes or less, all without the attitude and about the same price or less with plenty of leftovers because the chicken pieces are huge and the biscuits are 3 times the size...
Read moreWorst fast food dining room I've ever been in, I'm 52!!!! Please don't go here, absolutely disgusting. The dining room and kitchen area appeared to have not been cleaned in about 6 months. Unfortunately I was craving my Popeyes fix. It looked like my dogs had licked every window. The floors, tables, trash cans were all super nasty. The return vents haven't been looked at nor touched in what appeared to be years. So I ordered a three piece dinner, all wings and two sides. I got one wing, breast and thigh. I was terrified to ask for the correct order. I did however ask for hot sauce and honey and the manager dug thru a box and gave me ketchup instead. Again, I was terrified to ask for the correct items. I should have brought a shammy for my chicken. I could have done an oil change on my truck with all the extra oil. Sides were good and that's where the compliments end. What a disappointment. This location should be closed for a deep cleaning and definitely some attitude adjustments. A young girl came out spraying cleaner on some tables which shocked me and then she half cleaned them at best. She was slinging chairs around like a WWE match. I will not visit this location again for some time until I'm notified by the owners that this has been addressed. The grounds are disgusting as well and have been for years. Three to four years ago this place was amazing. Not sure what happened but the owner...
Read moreSo I love Popeyes food. The Pelham Alabama location though not so much. Every time we order from there, something is left out of our order. It shouldn't be up to me to drive back to the restaurant when I'm supposed to be sitting down eating with my family. This time it was the 2 pieces of regular chicken since we have kids that won't eat the spicy. Last time it was the additional LG container of mashed potatoes. I also don't understand why their job is to cook chicken, but it's always old, dry, and hard at this location. I remember my family asking me to pick up gravy for the holidays, so now I swing by Popeyes to buy it like I have Thanksgiving and Christmas the last 2 years. 3 times no issue buying it. This past Christmas, they told me I couldn't just buy gravy. I had to order a meal because the gravy was for the mashed potatoes. Gravy is a menu item right? So yes, I had to order a 2 piece meal in order to buy 5 containers of gravy. That's probably the dumbest thing a Mgr at a restaurant has ever asked me to do. I do believe I'm done with this company. They can keep the $ for the 2 regular pieces of chicken I was charged for and never received. Mgr offered for me to come pick them up free of charge, but is it really free? Gas plus my time are not free. Train your employees better and hopefully cut back on items left...
