Go to the Netherlands without leaving the Midwest! We took a day trip to Pella, Iowa and had so much fun! (SAVE this for your next trip!) Here’s what to do: 1ļøāƒ£ See the main square and downtown, including the canal, moving clock, windmills, tulips, and Dutch tile art 2ļøāƒ£ Go to the Pella Historical Museum to see a Dutch village, Wyatt Earp’s house, and the tallest working windmill in the US. The tickets include a tour to see a Dutch miniature village and go up in the windmill. I don’t recommend the tour for kids 3 and under. 3ļøāƒ£ Go to Wonder Spelen Park for the cutest Dutch-themed playground. 4ļøāƒ£ Eat all the food! Stop at a meat market for meat and cheese, a bakery for a Dutch letter (and everything else), and @dutchfix for poffertjes (Dutch mini pancakes). If you have Celiac Disease like me, @butchersbrewhuis was yummy and didn’t make me sick! 5ļøāƒ£ See the tulips! Right now the whole town is decorated with them! They have their annuaL Tulip Time celebration the first weekend in May. Do you want to go to Pella? What would you want to see or do there the most? . . . . #midwesttravel #visitiowa #iowa #pella #midwest

This is a must-stop if we are in Pella. Highlights: - The park is super clean and pretty large so it doesn't feel crowded even when there is a crowd. - It's fenced in so runners can't easily escape - The structures are large enough that they are accessible for walking aids, wheel chairs, and strollers. - The sheer size and variety of play structures means kids of various ages could be entertained in one place. - The bathrooms are inside a standalone building and are very clean. - A pavilion has multiple picnic tables and shade. - The playground itself has more shade incorporated throughout the structures than what I've historically seen. - The ground surface is very cushioned which likely minimizes injuries. - There are benches throughout giving adults and kids a respite from standing and playing. -The design incorporates elements from Dutch culture giving it character. - Plenty of parking.

This park is AWESOME!! Padded ground near all play areas, fully fenced in, and has very cool equipment. My two year old was able to play on almost everything without me (even the slides- they aren’t too fast). There is a covered area with...
