I recently received an email letting me know my past review from ~2020 is still being viewed here, so I felt it was only right to provide an updated one in 2025.
Re-updating as of (8/21/2025) - I have finally received confirmation after almost a full year of run arounds that my 401k account has been updated with the earnings owed! Thank you!
In my opinion, Trinity Compassionate Care Centers was a great place to be from around 2020 to 2023. There are still some genuinely kind and passionate people working there that I love with all of my heart, and I truly valued my time with the company. That said, a lot has changed in the past couple of years - especially since Nature's Grace and Wellness (NGW) acquired Trinity. Since the acquisition, the product selection has shifted to heavily feature NGW’s own brand. While that certainly has its audience, as with anything in retail, some customers may prefer a broader range of options.
Back in 2023, before I left, I was told by an upper sales manager of NGW face to face that looking for a new facility was in the works. As of now, that hasn’t happened - which may speak to broader organizational priorities. Additionally, NGW has expanded their business significantly, launching several new dispensary brands including Bud & Rita’s, OKAY Dispensary, and at least one more - honestly, I’ve lost track at this point.
Over the last two years, there has been decent staff turnover, and many of the operational issues still appear unresolved. According to recent reviews and what I’ve heard from others, medical curbside patients are still experiencing long wait times, overall long waits in store, and the University location has continued to deal with sewage issues on and off. One of the long time employees actually switched to the Glen store to work there instead. There are also still concerns about safety and cleanliness outside the University building - homeless individuals rummaging through trash, garbage, dirty diapers from time to time, chicken wings from Rumburgers all over the lot, and now even a previous Google review of needles being found in the parking lot. The staff tries to clean up outside when they are able, but they shouldn't have to. The security guards are usually on their phones and less than present. On a more personal note, I was saddened to hear that Anna, one of the kindest and longest-standing employees, was also recently let go after being told to "do what she needed to do" by her manager while having PTO with no shift coverage, and they would talk about it when she returned.
I also want to mention that I’ve been trying to access my 401(k) since leaving at the end of 2023, but I've faced ongoing delays (I know of at least 2 other people who are dealing with similar issues). It's amazing they even offer insurance and 401(k), don't get it twisted, I am not ungrateful. However I’ve been bounced between PCS and NGW with no clear answer about what I’m owed... since about SEPTEMBER 2024. To update this... it is currently ALMOST SEPTEMBER 2025... still no update, run arounds, and just got updated one of their regular people that - was - responding no longer works for the company... To make things more frustrating, I’ve had to amend my taxes the last two years - last year due to an incorrect W-2, with no communication that a corrected one was being sent, and again this year because a W-2 for a short-term amount (~$300) was sent out after the legal deadline, long after I’d filed and after I've been working somewhere else for a full year.
I’m sharing all of this not to be negative, but to be transparent -especially for patients and employees who deserve clarity, consistency, and care. I still hope to see Trinity thrive and evolve into a place that matches the passion of the people who’ve built it, especially their long...
Read moreI want to start with most of the people there are great especially those who you can tell are really there to help you. So I have had very bad experiences with a few of the workers there. It starts with the sale, they have been having the 30% or 40% off and then spend $110 get another 10% off. If you pay attention to what the sales are taking off each item on your receipt, you can get a lot for free. Well I figured this out the very first time they ran that deal. I actually quit going to trinity and started go to Rise in Canton until Trinity started running this sale. So almost every time I got the same cashier she wears glasses and kind of has a mullet and every time she found out the price she would pick everything up and go to the back and they would said to honor the cash register every time. Well one of my trips in I was getting 4 RSO and some free gummies and it was not letting her check me out so a manager came over (I think he works at Glen most of the time) anyway he comes up and want to split my order up and I tell him you can’t, the sale will not be right so he said he can over ride it so he chose to give me the free gummies first then the RSO. It turned out I didn’t have enough grams so I couldn’t buy it all. But stuff like that really bothers me so I did the right thing and went back in by that weekend and bought the RSO I didn’t buy because I felt bad about getting the sale previously. Then I put an order in on December 29th and as soon as I walked in and saw that she was working (the girl with glasses and mullet) I knew something would be wrong with my order. A different cashier checked me out (the person in charge of medical applications) So she tells me that it’s $210 dollars, which wasn’t the correct price. Then she looks and says this should be cheaper and picked everything up and walked over to the girl with glasses and a mullet and she tells her they are going by the cash register So she comes back over and said oh that’s the right price I was just looking at something wrong. Well I paid the $210 then when I got home I looked at the receipt to see what she did. Well half my receipt was on sale and the half which were the gummies was not. I went back there to talk to the manager the next morning because all of that felt intentional. And the manager gave me my money back and asked to keep my receipt because she said she was mad. So after all this someone went in and wiped out my Budrista points. I have been going there for a long time, usually when you get a refund it does not take your Budrista points away. Some of the workers at that store are very vindictive. And one of them is actually in charge of medical applications. Is she picking who gets a medical marijuana card and who doesn’t like she is with sales? I would make sure you check your receipt and got the sales you were supposed to. Now I question everything the few times I went in a they didn’t have what I ordered is that because they pick and choose what you get and/or...
Read moreEdited: Prices are more consistent with other stores now. Allotment limits have been removed. Currently this is my go to store. The staff there are friendly and welcoming. Many of the kinks seem to be ironed out. Hard to forget about them scalping medical users, but not like we're allowed any choices.
General "Fair Value" Pricing:
1/8 oz. is roughly equal to 3.54 grams
Reasonable prices in Illinois for the current market are: Flowers: 98% THC anything. Unsure as it's relatively new and price hasn't settled, I wouldn't pay more $80 per gram or $180-190 per 1/8 though
Edibles: All edibles except RSO are a huge ripoff. The value in not having to prepare it is purely personal and might make up for it though. RSO should be $50-70 per gram.
Topical: Same as edibles.
Vapes: Personal preference? Out of the 10 or so (7+ carts, 3 disposable) over 4 brands I've tried, I would rate all of them 0/10 with one leaky at NA/10. Burns your throat worse than anything else I've ever tried, while delivering medication at a snail's pace. Maybe useful to a brand new patient that has been smoking several packs of cigs a day for years? Can't think of anyone else I'd condemn to that. AVOID.
Anyways, the TL:DR is Trinity "Compassionate" Care had a rough start, gouging customer like every other cannabis dispensary, but are now the better...
