I've eaten here twice before and was impressed with their menu. The service was average, nothing above and beyond with a few mistakes from the waitress each time. But today, I went in to pick up breakfast for the family that was ordered from the Childers app. When I got in I was told it wasn't paid for, even though I said my sister said she did. I'm not one to start ranting and complaining so I figured maybe the payment didn't go through or my sister changed her mind on paying for the whole family. I handed over my card while I called my sister to ask and the woman working the cash register swiped it. My sister then said she did already pay and emailed me the receipt to show the staff at Childers. The woman working the register instantly realized what happened when I showed proof it was paid for. She said its "because we used the Chow Now app (whatever that meant) but she didn't know how to cancel the transaction once to the tip screen was up. She went to ask her manager. The manager gave me a stare down through the girls explanation, told her to charge me and do a refund then walked away. The woman working the register was nice, but didn't quite know how to handle the situation. Eventually another nice woman came out to give the refund, said the money will go back into my bank account and apologized. I didn't understand how they could not know the order was paid for if we used their app. I brushed it off, got home only to realize they forgot my sons order of bacon and gave him buttermilk pancakes instead of wheat. Frustrated, I decided to write a review of my experience instead of driving allll the way back to...
Read moreWe used Childers as a caterer for our daughter's wedding back in January. We did the taste tasting months prior and chose the entree. It was nothing at all like we taste tested. It was very bland, cold, and just plain nasty. The nice person that we dealt with that day of course no longer works there. There was a lot of food leftover due to this reason and many complaints from our wedding guests. Oh and you are not allowed to keep the leftovers even though we paid per person nor would we have wanted to. The following week we made a call to Childer's expressing our concern for all the money that was spent and how terrible the food was. The lady that answered the phone told us she would talk to the chef and get back with us. When she finally called back we were basically called liars and that our story conflicted with the chef's story. Childer's has now lost three potential wedding events due to this as we had guests there that were considering them and will not now due to poor staff and that the food was a disgrace. I do not recommend them...
Read moreI go here and dine alone about every other weekend. I have never once had bad service. I usually go on Saturdays but switched things up a little and went today, on a Sunday. The parking lot was jam packed! It took me a half sec to realize it was the church rush. I expected to be there a little longer today, which I would’ve been ok with. The restaurant about to full capacity but I was happy to see they had a few of the single booths open on the back wall, so no wait at all to sit down. The kid that works as a host up front is very welcoming and hardworking. I’ve never had to wait longer than 60-90 secs to be seated. Both servers that work the weekends are great too. I really didn’t expect to be in and out as quickly as I was today but those girls are on it every time. I get the same thing whenever I go and it’s always delicious. The butternut squash and andouille sausage frittata is phenomenal! And the lemon vinaigrette on the greens is one of best dressings I’ve ever had in my life. I always eat every last bit and leave feeling...
