As someone who has been part of this company both on stage and being in the audience, this is an awesome company with high quality performances and talent. I love this company. My only complaint is the building itself. It needs a serious renovation both front of house and back. From a performer prospective, backstage/dressing rooms/etc are extremely cramped (especially with bigger shows with big cast) and out of date. Not to mention, there is no green room. Not only does the whole building need a renovation, but they also really need an expansion of the backstage area. I understand it’s a historic building on a military base, but the cramped and out of date dressing room space is absolutely ridiculous. I have heard rumors that they are trying to get approval for these updates, but keep getting turned down by the historical society. I mean seriously!? Again great company with high quality performances. It’s just the building I have a...
Read moreThis is a great live playhouse! I recently went to see the the sound of music about 2weeks prior to this post and I was very impressed by the acoustics in the room! the size of the venue is pretty large! they have a really good stage space so you can see everything clearly even from the farthest row in the playhouse. they have a simple room, Don't be on your phone while the play is happening, that means no pictures or videos; thats just what I was told for the play I was watching, possible rule changes can happen during other events. the venue is clean and there is enough workers in the building to help you out and make you feel at home! all around a great recommendation for a weekend or...
Read moreWonderful Sunday matinee of the Sound of Music. Packed house! Thank you, Lee Farmer, for discussing the musical; otherwise I'd never know about this precious gem, tucked away on Ft. Lee. The entire production was solid, with no hiccups (except for ones only actors and crew would know). Actors, singing, choreography, pit orchestra, lighting, sound — all worked seamlessly to remind me why I love live theater so. To the theater company: make more stalls available for the ladies! Three isn't enough to handle a full house of...
