American Banquet Hall — Attraction in Phoenix

The hall looks not so great from the outside. The parking lot could use a lot of work and some repaving. Actually one of my guest broke her heel walking to her car because of the shape it is in. Once you get inside it is nice. They have a beautiful giant chandelier right over a big dance floor (a requirement for my Fiancé). Like most halls it comes with a tables, chairs, linens, chair bows, head table and backdrop in your chosen color. The floors are all tile which is nice. The bathroom are nice and clean and there are a lot of stalls, large bar area, with coolers and they supplied us with soda, and ice. One of the reasons they picked this place was because they allowed us to bring our own alcohol, which worked into our budget quite well. The owners allowed us to bring in items a few days early too. The facility provided me with a DJ. On our first meeting with him, Armando was 2 hours late. I had to call him to remind him of our appointment. The second meeting with him he was late as well and actually tried to cancel literally the minute I arrived at the meeting location, completely unprofessional! He didn’t play a lot of the songs we asked him to, he played songs like, I like big butts, TWICE actually! It was also not on our play list. I gave The DJ, Armando a list of more than enough songs and thought I would let him pick what he wanted to play during the night within that list. He did not do that. He also talked badly and was venting his frustrations about us arriving late to the venue which we weren’t. We were 10 mins early per our pre-planned timeline. He even allowed a person to sing a song during our cocktail hour and again right before our toast. We were pissed about that, it was not planned and it ended up being very awkward for everyone. The Coordinator was nice until the last day when she started getting rude and snappy with my entourage. On the day of the wedding, she was not helpful at all, we couldn’t not find her most of the time. I later found out why. There were supposed to be 2 wait staff there to clean off the table, cut the cake and hand out cupcakes, I never saw them there. Actually my cake was never served, which is fine it was for the wedding party only. But they also never handed out our cupcakes. People just started walking up and taking them off our stand. They did provide a bartender and he was AMAZING! We had a photo booth and when we got the photos back from the photo booth vendor we started noticing a lot of pictures of people we didn’t know and the coordinator. 46 Total pictures to be exact. She took it on herself to invite her brother, sister, mother, old coordinator, old bartender and another person no one knew who they were to my wedding. They then proceeded to take photos in my photo booth, they invited in the DJ for a few shots as well. I am assuming they probably helped themselves to our food and drinks too. I contacted the owners about this and brought in all the pictures of them they took the night of my wedding. The owners seemed shocked that she would do such a thing and asked me readily if I invited those guest to my wedding. Ummm, NO! I didn’t even know them! After speaking to Linda the owner she said she would discuss the matter with the coordinator and asked if she could keep the pictures I printed out. I told her that would be find, I have a copy of them forever on my wedding disk! I thought the owners would offer me some money back but she did not, which shocked me. I told her about the issues I had with the DJ also and still no refund. She did then ask me to make sure I added a review for her, which I am doing.
