Reservation for 6 pm, 4th of July. The restaurant was barely at 2/3 capacity. There were a few empty tables in our section. Absolutely, stunningly, bad service! From our very first encounter with Rachel until our very last encounter, she was a complete mess. We were a party of five - three men and two women, (two couples and one single) After quite a wait Rachel arrived to take drink orders, she stood between two men and took their orders, then took the third manâs order then one womanâs order and walked away from the table! She turned back and said to me, âoh yeah, did you want something to drink?â Seriously! Rachel- ladies first! Or at least start with a woman and then work your way clockwise around the table. Serving 101 Fairly quickly, she returned with drinks for the 2 men then we waited quite a while for the third manâs beer and then about 10 minutes for the two womenâs iced teas, which arrived with literally no ice and no lemons. Rachel didnât bring those drinks -someone else did. Every personâs entrĂ©e came with something missing or wrong and Rachel wasnât there to fix it nor did she ever fix them. So many mistakes throughout the meal, it was a complete disaster right up until the check came with mistakes on it. She took the check away to make the corrections which naturally took quite a while⊠Finally, she took payment, our check was $240. I told her I was paying with $200 cash and $40 on a cardâŠ. She put the entire $240 on the card. She had to refund it to the card and then take the final payment. I really wish I hadnât tipped or anything at all, I wish I could get a refund on that! I did not tip her the standard 20%, I only tipped her 10% actually $20.
Was she flirting for a larger tip from a man or is she totally sexist and assuming a man is paying or just totally thirsty for our totally hot husbands? Heads up Rachel itâs 2025 and women have money now.. because we work hard for it. Unless she was suffering from a horrible event that had happened earlier that day ⊠she has no business serving at such a moderately expensive and respected restaurant. One star for service because i cannot initiate a review without a star. Otherwise it would be zero stars.
To: Bobby Q management- I love this restaurant, this location has been here and been go to for my family since the 1970s! Matter of fact, a couple of our now adult children have even served here while in school. Iâm noticing some very bad reviews for your restaurant and Iâm begging you to tighten this ship up! Please donât be the reason this...
Read moreI am fairly new to AZ. Havenât had any real down home cooking. I was so hungry the other night at work and wanted some bbq but I also wanted brisket. Mind you my ex-husband was a master at making Brisket but he lives out of state. Well my coworker asked if I ever tried Bobby Q. I hadnât but it looked so good on the website and the reviews drew me to it. I was excited to drive 15 miles for the experience. I entered in where the fresh donuts were being made. Mistake #1. Hot, fresh, delicious and will definitely ruin your appetite. They are also free. The atmosphere was amazing. The service was on point until. I went to the to go area and ordered. I ordered for myself and my coworker. We work in the medical field and often you donât get to eat during your shift, so this was going to mean a lot. I ordered the 3 meat with coleslaw and Mac & cheese. She ordered just brisket with two sides. Both above $30 platters. Mine was almost $40. We both received what looked like scraps of oily brisket. I was thoroughly disappointed. In my platter, the baby back ribs were so dry I couldnât eat them and one chicken leg. Now, I got there at about 8pm, but there was still fresh chicken roasting, the place was about 80% full, and people were still coming in ordering so fresh rotating food should have still been produced. The Mac and cheese was only half of the container while coleslaw was packed. She didnât get her baked potato either. Like, Iâm not trying to be negative but WHY!!! Your review clearly depict a different service and so do the pictures. The cashier looked dumbfounded when I asked âis this itâ? What was I really paying for? I may somewhere in the future try them again but this first impression has me baffled. If it werenât for the donut, thatâs an original idea there, I think I wouldnât have been this kind. I never even tasted the cornbread. I was a Food Specialist in the military and I honestly was so hoping for a greater experience. No customer should be this disappointed after reading accolades of this magnitude about a restaurant. This was clearly my experience, I hope it will not hinder anyone from trying and drawing their...
Read moreThis place has really gone downhill. Went to the company party for a great dinner. What a joke. We stood around waiting for our area to be ready for 20 minutes after our party was supposed to begin. We are finally taken back and then we sat and waited. And waited. Another 20 minutes before anyone even came to take drink orders. We get drinks and they are at least good, unfortunately service would be so terrible it would be feast or famine the rest of the night for getting another drink.
We are told appetizers are served. They are tortilla chips poured out from the bag, mostly broken little shards with a watery cheese dip that is separating and sad frozen mini flautas? mini chimis? What are they? I don't know, but they are kind of soggy and wet. Hey, we didn't come to Bobby Qs for the apps, we are here for yummy BBQ meats. Well, that's what we thought anyway.
We are served hard, dry, stale corn bread hockey pucks. Dry, barely warm and super fatty meats. I tried a bit of the pork, brisket and ribs. How can meat so fatty also be so dry? No idea but they managed to do it. Gross and inedible all of it and if you want your meat as a sandwich, here's some stale grocery store hamburger buns to put it on. Even with the addition of extra BBQ sauce provided I could not choke down a dry brisket sandwich on a dry bun.
I did not try the cole slaw, it looked like your standard issue mix a bag of pre-shredded cabbage with some premade bucket of dressing. Mac and cheese was typical heated from frozen, same with mashed potatoes and the beans were ok. Hard to mess up opening a can and heating. Anything they could get pre-made or pre-packaged they did. Really gross and not at all fresh tasting. "Chef Mike" was working hard.
This was a HUGE disappointment considering they did not allow parties to order off the menu like in years past, instead we got awful leftover dried out buffet style slop. Bad food and bad service. Yikes. Not the Bobby Qs I remember. I do not recommend and I will not return. There are better BBQ places for less money with real food, fresh ingredients and much...
