I am very dissatisfied with fire department 42. every time they were called out to help out with my mom they were very disrespectful, like they were being bothered. One of few times they came out due to we could not lift her out of the shower chair and they were very rude when they came in and I was standing outside the bathroom where she was and I heard her fall. so what we were trying to prevent fire department 42 let happen they were being very aggressive with her I felt. I let it go. Then time had passed when they were called out again due to was not able to get my mom out of the shower chair. they came very rude and started accusing us of not taking care of her when we were trying to give her a bath after that the shower lady quit giving her showers and only would do bed baths. she felt like she was being Interrogated. I understand to ask basic questions however to accuse someone of something and making them feel bad is just wrong. There was another recent incident they came at least 5 minutes before the emt showed up and standing in my moms room and the female fire department started snooping around and going into different parts of my house being nosey. I thought maybe she was gonna ask me a question I was standing outside and I said when she came out can I help you and she stated no just waiting for the emt. When emt showed up they brought her outside where I was standing and had taking all her sheets off the bed and I asked why would you do that and fire department stated that was the easiest way to get her into the gurney. One of the fire man stated we are not trying to malice. I think it was pure laziness. There were a total of 3 fire department men and a female and 2 emt males. My mom does not weight more then 180 pounds. I felt like they took the easy way out. I had to follow the emt and wait to get my moms sheets back when it was an inconvenience due to it was late at night and I had to be to work in the am. Therefore if and when I need to call for assistance you can guarantee I will refuse to use fire...
Read moreI live close to this fire station and someone down the street called them for medical assistance after the call. The truck pulled away to fast from the house after the call and flew past my car at 40+mph in a 25mph zone i can pace a vehicle btw. With car's parked on the side of the road it gets tight for car's to pass by especially a big engine. Lucky for her the 5yr old lil girl i was getting out the car her belt got stuck if it didn't he would've hit us both as i got her out the car but it was just me i honestly thought he was gonna hit me. My wife followed them they didn't leave fast to another call they went straight to the fire house so no excuse for almost running me over with your careless driving you guy's are supposed to have safety first and help people not almost run them down. I have members in my family in service and retired from Lafd and they tell me there was no excuse for driving like that especially just going back to the fire house. It happened last night and this morning if it happens again gonna video that rookie driver and call the cops for endangerment of public safety. To the driver thanks for almost taking our lives just so you can get back to the fire house to...
Read moreMonday we took my son in for a sick appointment. Ended up needing to be sent by ambulance to the Children's Hospital. The fire and rescue teams that showed up at a doctor's office for awesome. They were very friendly in caring for my seven-month-old son. They definitely made the situation that feels nearly as stressful as it was especially being a first-time mom with my for the first time to top it off needing an ambulance ride. I'm sure the situation was minor compared to the day-to-day things that they handle and do for the community but he left a very great impression in my book. I cant recall everyone by name, but the conversations between getting the necessary information crossed helped keep me calm which helped my son im sure. Thank you fire and Rescue from station 42. My family...
