IF YOU WANT AN OUT OF SHAPE PERSON’s REVIEW:
I don’t consider myself so out of shape, but hiking— I SURE DO.
My husband and I decided to do this hike. We started around 11 am.
Didn’t finish until around 4 pm.
We did take A LOT of breaks and at the top of the mountain— I was tempted to take a nap once we reached it. lol 😂
Everyone was very supportive.
DO NOT BELIEVE anyone saying “ALMOST THERE”. Unless it’s the next big mark spot or bend. If I take a corner and there’s more.. it’s not!
Very proud of us.
We did this for our Anniversary.
Only coming down from the hike did I notice the 2 black diamond rating. Oops!
If you are short…. This is going to be way tougher for you!
I’m taller and still had to use my husband for help coming DOWN the mountain. Because the steps were so large.
Can’t imagine going up and down if the steps are that large.
It did ignite my want for more hikes!!!
This is NOT a 2 hour hike for the out of shape on hiking methods. Times that by two.
This is like stair master 3000 for a GIANT.
Still. BEAUTIFUL hike and still VERY FUN. I have no regrets afterwards.
Although I had a billion while climbing up and wondering “ALMOST THERE MY (fill in to your hearts desire)”
Hahaha😆
Use the bathrooms before hand. ...

Also, it's way too popular and unoriginal. A lot of people I talk to, this and Camelback are the only spots they talk and know about. Due to said popularity, there's just too many people hiking up and down. It feels like Black Friday. Also, besides the trail being overcrowded, I did not like how it went straight up in a zigzag format. There truly wasn't much to see and on the way back, it felt sketchy and no place...
Read moreAt first I was skeptical about this trail. I came alone, and not in the best shape of my life. But it looked worth it. After seeing that the difficulty of the trail was extremely difficult I was hesitant. I didn't know what to expect. I saw children, people of all ages and body sizes, and a pregnant woman who made it to the summit. Its rigorous but dooable. Make sure to catch your breath and take as many breaks as you need, there is no rush. Keep your head up going up and keep your head down going down and you'll make it....
