This is beyond the worst place they nice at the beginning because obviously they want your money but then later are so inconsiderate cause they don’t care. worst service experience with employees who have no clue as to what they promise. the way these people create unnecessary stress and drama in an already emotional situation is beyond me. If I would had known this was going to be so much stressful I would had gone else where I do not recommend them please don't go to this place from the day I went in to plan service in January I said 1 hour top for viewing and service they set it for 3, I was worried about viewing cause I was not given chance to see him by resthaven or medical examiner and since he died in a motorcycle accident and the 2 week wait for next available funeral they told oh its fine only a couple cuts makeup can hide and that was also the answer to the 29days between death and service makeup he will look fine. He didn’t he looked bad and not from accident there was an odd towel under head, a shoelace around neck parts of face and skin bunched up to name a few. the DAY BEFORE THE FUNERAL we get a call that they need police report for life insurance money or we will need to postpone service. My husband was big guy so already new i needed bigger casket plot which was discussed she even went and measured him to make sure casket was good then during service they tell me they had to go size up cause he got bigger after embalming. I was told DURING SERVICE standing at his grave looking at casket that they wont bury him until they receive money from life insurance then why did we take him his casket and guests out to grave for no reason he was finally burred a week later. They asked if I wanted his stuff from day he died I said yes had to ask for it multiple time and it took them weeks. I asked for hand prints instead of thumb thing they gave 2 but both were the same hand they just flipped image to make it look like both hands. I visit grave each week which isn't any better they randomly pick what stuff they wanna toss from graves, sprinklers have been turned on while there more then once at like 10am I have had to walk through ankle deep water more then once. i requested itemized bill for both funeral cemetery i got funeral but not cemetery even after multiple request and currently I’m still waiting on headstone to be set it was delivered jury 7 a week later I emailed phillis to verify it was there and good took her almost 2 weeks to respond says it will be placed that week it wasn’t and still isn’t I tried contacting phillis with no luck Sept 7 make 2 months stone just been been sitting there and no idea how much longer after paying $500 just to set stone it would be nice to have an eta at least for all I no it might be set on wrong grave which is honestly what I’m expecting at this point with this place. This is the short list of issues I...
Read moreI was very disappointed with the service my family received from this specific location. My brother passed in Seattle WA and our first contact was with Columbia Funeral home in Washington State. They are part of the Dignity Memorial network. They were absolutely wonderful and handled the transfer of his remains from Washington to Arizona. I chose Resthaven because it was within the Dignity Memorial network and close not too far from family members. I wrongly thought I would get the same high standard of service I received from Columbia.
Our family service counselor at Resthaven was Jeff. He was ok but on the day of my brother’s memorial service in December he assured us that a staff member would be there to help us. It was outside with chairs, tent and table for the urn but no staff to assist us. When it was time to intern my brother in the Columbarium, I had to walk to the office and ask for help to open the niche to place his urn. The plaque for his niche took about 3 months arriving around March 2024. We also requested a flower holder. First, we were told it would come with the plaque. When it didn’t, every time we inquired on the status Jeff assured us it was on backorder. In August on a Monday, I called again and was told Jeff was no longer there. I asked to speak to the funeral director or the assistant director, a women named Phyllis called me back. I asked Phyllis if there was any way it could be installed by Saturday as my deceased brother’s birthday is coming up and family members will be coming to place flowers. Phyllis said she was adding the maintenance order for installation by Saturday. She said when I arrived on Saturday and it wasn’t there, for ME to FIND a worker and tell him my situation.
Today I went and of course no holder. I went to the office and told the front office staff my issue and could she call a maintenance person. She called someone and a staff named Joshua showed up. He said he was with another family but took down my name, number and my deceased brother’s name. He assured me it would be taken care of today.
Again, no response, no phone call to even tell me the status. So, I will be calling again on Monday.
The Phoenix area has many other cemeteries to choose from. It’s enough to lose a family member but when the place of their internment is unorganized and unresponsive it does not give comfort or care that...
Read moreIn June 2021 my grandmother was laid to rest and we chose to use rest haven because we have other family buried there. Upon walking in it looks nice the viewing room was decent a little bit outdated my grandma likes fancy things but we thought maybe it would work out still and make everything easy on everybody to do the viewing he feeling the buriel and celebration of life at 1 place with catering from resthaven too. Communication seemed good, the process was good they made it easy. When doing the walk through my mom hesitated because it was a little outdated and not my gmas style .plus the overflow room for the celebration of life AC unit was out...but we moved forward at this stressful time and figured we didn't need the overflow room... Well the DAY BEFORE THE FUNERAL we get a call...the AIR-CONDITIONING UNIT IS OUT IN THE VIEWING ROOM....they did have someone working on it..but can u imagine...the thoughts that go thru your mind trying to do the best funeral and this? There was nothing we could do at this point...and the plan was to bring in portable AC units or giant ugly fans....! Thankfully once we walked in....the AC was fixed and I felt so relieved!! Sheri was helping us and off the day of the funeral so some one else was incharge. I had printed BIG PICTURES for the viewing room...which were not placed in there they were outside the room...I printed pics in small frames for the tables in the celebration of life room ..none were placed in there..she even saud she can out them in cute stands.....there were NO PICTURES ..apparently nobody was told where they are and what they were for..there were prints supposed to be on the tables for ppl to grab also...me and pa nice gentleman..ran around looking for them....such a mess. Finally found them so I got to put them out while everyone ate. I am thankful we found them, but not happy things were not going as planned. Now aug 23 my mom got confirmation of a engraved candle that was ordered was in and they would ship to her....here we are ..sept 8th still no communication..... communication could be better within..and...
