South Palisades Park — Attraction in Pismo Beach

This is a park on top of a bluff overlooking the Pacific Ocean. There are benches, a few picnic tables and both paved and non paved paths to walk on. It is a long narrow park with grass and some palm trees above the beach. It’s a great place to take a walk, walk you dogs, enjoy the views, have a picnic and enjoy our beautiful coast. it has great views of the ocean and there are several places that have stairs with access to the beach below. Another near perfect day enjoying sun, shade , and a game of fetch at the waters' edge. This park is about as laid back as can be; one of the lesser known places to enjoy our beautiful beaches. Wheelchair accessible paths, dog friendly (leashed is the law but well behaved dogs are allowed off without complaints). Street parking is sometimes a bit hard to come by but usually available. Beautiful grass, benches to watch whales from and a barbeque pit also available. No restrooms though. An amazing paragliding site for advanced Pilots. Very short ridge at the park must wait until lift is fully set up to launch and transfer to the cliffs to the South above the hotels all the way to Spyglass Park. make sure you have plenty of beach below to land in case you sync out tide comes in high and leaves very little room for Beach landing and error.
