Chatham Historical Museum — Attraction in Pittsboro

Lots of very pleasant volunteers, the level of politeness actually caught me off guard a bit, like I mean to the point of small degrees of concern but it's because I'm unaccustomed. Lots of information available, be sure to sign their guest book especially if you're from out of town. I like the the multi-sensory mediums of displays. Very shallow information and displays about the War Between the States and much of the rest of the county's history. The historical association failed to advocate, protect, and defend the county's most important historical artifact & memorial that was right outside the building. Pittsboro and Chatham County lost its soul when the beautiful, historic 112 year old Confederate War Memorial was unethically and cruelly removed from the grounds of a MUSEUM against the overwhelming majority of...

This is my first time visit and I'm very impressed. I'm a Chatham County native who has recently moved back home. Great, helpful staff and really nice historical displays.
